The National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT) has announced final casting for the 25th Annual Festival of New Musicals on Thursday, October 17 and Friday, October 18 at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street).
INSPIRED: A Benefit Concert for the ASPCA of NYC and The Last Resort Rescue of NJ took place on September 22, 2013. The concert invited the audience into the hearts and minds of some of today's exciting musical theatre writers in a casual and intimate setting as they sit behind the piano and, unlike traditional concerts of their material, perform songs by other writers that have inspired their work. MadBromance Productions announced today that final casting has been set for the 29-hour reading of JAWBREAKER: THE MUSICAL on Thursday, September 26thand Friday, September 27th at 3p.m. With a book by Darren Stein who wrote and directed the 1999 film, JAWBREAKER has music and lyrics by Jeff Thomson and Jordan Mann (Trails), choreography by Shea Sullivan (The Big Gay Musical), musical supervision by James Sampliner (Legally Blonde, The Wedding Singer) and is directed by Gabriel Barre (The Wild Party).
Sitting in the audience, and knowing the theatre as I do, I was very impressed with the set right away. It was a two story set with a walkway outside portraying the New York streets.

Veteran film and theatre producer Sandy Stern, with Louis Hobson, Jake Groshong and Katie Tomlinson Diamond of Seattle's Balagan Theatre, will present a closed workshop performance today, July 12, of Jeff Thomson and Jeremy Desmon's new rock musical Pump up the Volume, directed by Tony Award and Drama Desk Award winner Christopher Gattelli (Newsies,South Pacific) and Dave Solomon, with choreography by Christopher Gattelli and music direction by James Sampliner (Legally Blonde, The Wedding Singer).
On April 1st, 'Miles Of Time' from the musical TRAILS was featured on New Day Northwest Seattle. Kirsten DeLohr Helland, who plays the lead role of Amy in Village Theatre's new musical TRAILS, performed, accompanied on piano by Music Director R.J. Tancioco.
