The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) this week kicks off the 60th anniversary celebration of its prestigious Gold & Platinum Program, the industry's premier award for recognizing artistic achievement in the music marketplace.

According to Entertainment Weekly,  Jim Parsons has been announced as the latest honoree at this years GLAAD Media Awards. Parsons joins previously announced Britney Spears who is also being honored. 

The Shed's Artistic Director and CEO Alex Poots today unveiled the first group of commissions for the 2019 inaugural season in its future home on Manhattan's west side, and provided major updates about the organization's leadership, program, and capital campaign. Jamar White, Buffalo Boss CEO, expands the footprint of his organic buffalo wings quick-serve chain to the Simon Newport Centre in Jersey City, New Jersey. White launches the chain's fourth location amidst major players like Chick-Fil-A, McDonald's, Starbucks, and Popeyes. This is a great accomplishment considering the chain's humble beginnings as "a scrappy little company that has always operated in the shadow of multi-national food chains." Born in a highly competitive fast-food environment in 2010, Buffalo Boss opened its first 450 square foot storefront just a few feet away from Five Guys and the busiest McDonald's in downtown Brooklyn. White recalls, "We quietly built our customer base of local residents while the two behemoth burger franchises duked it out."

Darrell Smith, one of the top keyboardists on the touring and recording circuit will release his debut album TIME + SPACE on April 15, 2018.  With a list of credits that includes working with a diverse group of artists such as Stevie Nicks, Jay-Z, Elton John, Janet Jackson,  Cher, k.d. Lang, Vanessa Carlton, Dave Stewart, Anita Baker, Lady Antebelum and  Darlene Love (amongst many others), the album is sure to spark interest with fans and musicians alike.
