9 Works Theatrical, whose fifth anniversary offering is playfully tied up with a new production of Jason Robert Brown's cult two-hander musical THE LAST 5 YEARS, has just released a short-video feature showing actors Nikki Gil, who plays Cathy Hiatt, a struggling theater actress, and Joaquin Valdes, who plays Jamie Wellerstein, a rising novelist, perform excerpts from the musical on stage Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium at RCBC Plaza in Makati City.

Kaufman's Pulitzer Prize-winning play You Can't Take It With begins previews on August 26, 2014, at the Longacre Theatre (220 West 48th Street), with an opening night set for September 28, 2014. The production will be directed by six-time Tony Award-nominee and Drama Desk Award winner Scott Ellis (The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Twelve Angry Men, 1776) and will play a 19-week limited engagement. The New York Humane Society and the show's Animal Trainer, Bill Berloni just brought kittens over to the rehearsal studio for Scott and select cast members to find the right ones for the roles of the two kittens in the show. The first time I heard 'Still Hurting,' the first song in the hit Off-Broadway musical THE LAST 5 YEARS, I knew it was going to be one of my favorite heartbreak songs. I also had the chance to listen to the other songs written by Jason Robert Brown for THE LAST 5 YEARS; however, I still felt the strongest connection to 'Still Hurting.' It is a sad song, but once in a while the company of a sad song is well appreciated.
