The British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards were handed out tonight, Sunday, February 21, 2010. 'The Hurt Locker' swept the awards picking up the honors of Best Director, Original Screenplay and Film, and also winning for Editing, Sound and Cinematography. Colin Firth picked up a Best Actor BAFTA award for his work in 'A Single Man' while Christoph Waltz won in the category of Best Supporting Actor for 'Inglourious Basterds.'
The Writers Guild of America, West (WGAW) and the Writers Guild of America, East (WGAE) announced the winners of the 2010 Writers Guild Awards on Saturday, February 20, for outstanding achievement in writing for screen, television, radio, news, promotional, and videogame writing at simultaneous ceremonies at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles and the Hudson Theatre at the Millennium Broadway Hotel in New York City.
