Olney Theatre Center will produce the groundbreaking Tony Award-winning musical A Chorus Line August 1 through September 1 on the Mainstage. With 24 performers and 8 musicians in the pit, A Chorus Line is the largest musical in Olney Theatre Center history.

On Sunday, July 21, 2013, Olney Theatre Center will host "School of Style-nomics," a back-to-school fashion fundraiser. The event starts at 2:00pm and will feature the newest fashions from local clothing and accessory boutiques, special performances from the students at Studio of Ballet Arts in Sandy Spring, great raffle prizes, ice cream, and fun crafts. All proceeds with benefit arts and education at Olney Theatre Center.

America's longest-running touring company National Players present Shakespeare's hilarious comedy The Comedy of Errors July 18 through 21 at 8:00 pm on The Root Family Stage at Olney Theatre Center. These performances are part of Olney Theatre Center's annual Free Summer Shakespeare program.

Olney Theatre Center continues its 75th Anniversary season with the Victorian thriller Angel Street, also known as Gaslight. Angel Street is playing on the Mainstage tonight, June 20 - July 14, 2013.

Olney Theatre Center will host its 4th Annual Community Appreciation Day on June 29 from noon until 4pm in conjunction with the Montgomery County Heritage Days Celebration.

Olney Theatre Center Artistic Director Jason Loewith announced the company would scrap its traditional subscription format while producing an ambitious slate of three seasons and nine productions for the Theatre's 2014 76th Anniversary Season. Three "mini-seasons" will feature Rolling World Premieres, 20th century American classics, four extraordinary musicals and an outdoor Shakespeare production beneath the stars.

Angel Street focuses on a seemingly normal couple, the Manninghams. Is the handsome Jack Manningham a caring husband - or is he discreetly trying to drive his young wife Bella into insanity under the guise of kindness? It takes an extraordinarily dedicated Scotland Yard detective, the aptly named Inspector Rough, to unravel this delightfully twisted thriller.

The Rose Theater, one of the country's largest theaters specializing in professional productions for young audiences, will present nine shows for the 2013-14 season. Included are two world premieres, Leo Lionni's Frederick, a musical based on the popular 1968 children's book, and The Grocer's Goblin & The Little Mermaid adapted from two Hans Christen Andersen tales by Rose Playwright-in-Residence Brian Guehring and Rose Director of Youth Productions Stephanie Jacobson.

Olney Theatre Center announces the DC-area premiere of Jeff Talbott's The Submission May 9 - June 9, 2013. Winner of the inaugural Laurents-Hatcher Award, Olney Theatre Center's production is the third professional production of the play since its World Premiere in 2011.

In the hands of The Studio Theatre's Artistic Director David Muse and STC's Artistic Director Michael Kahn, this pairing of Shakespearean and German epics challenges the concept of control among military and government institutions. Coriolanus and Wallenstein play at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F Street NW) from tonight, March 28-June 2, 2013.

Olney Theatre Center announces two programming changes to the 75th Anniversary Season. This fall, Olney Theatre Center will kick off the National New Play Network (NNPN) Rolling World Premiere of Steven Dietz's Rancho Mirage. Following Rancho Mirage will be the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic The King and I.

The NATIONAL NEW PLAY NETWORK (NNPN), the country's alliance of non-profit theaters that champions the development, production, and continued life of new plays, announces its 36th Rolling World Premiere: Steven Dietz's Rancho Mirage will receive four productions through the Network's Continued Life of New Plays Fund in the 2013/14 season. Rancho Mirage will begin its Rolling World Premiere at Olney Theatre Center (Olney, MD, September 26 - October 20, 2013), followed by performances at New Repertory Theatre (Watertown, MA, October 13 - November 3, 2013), Phoenix Theatre (Indianapolis, IN, October 24 - November 24, 2013), and Curious Theatre Company (Denver, CO, October 31 - December 7, 2013).

Olney Theatre Center announces the DC-area premiere of Tim Firth's Neville's Island. This "comedy in thick fog" will play on the Mainstage April 4 - 28, 2013.

New Georges (Susan Bernfield, Producing Artistic Director; Sarah Cameron Sunde, Deputy Artistic Director; Jaynie Saunders Tiller, Managing Director) will present the World Premiere of Lynn Rosen's (Apple Cove with Women's Project) GOLDOR $ MYTHYKA: A HERO IS BORN directed by Shana Gold (Food and Fadwa with New York Theatre Workshop) April 3-27 at The New Ohio Theatre (154 Christopher Street between Greenwich and Washington). Casting will be announced on Friday, February 22. Tickets will go on sale Friday, March 1.

Spring Awakening, winner of eight Tony Awards including Best Musical, officially opens Olney Theatre Center's 75th Anniversary Season tomorrow night and runs through March 10, 2013.

Olney Theatre Center has announced Jason Loewith as its new Artistic Director. Mr. Loewith began his tenure on February 4, 2013. He comes to Olney Theatre Center from his current position as Executive Director of the National New Play Network.
