Vickie Shaw to Bring Stand-Up to Renberg Theatre, 9/7

StandOut Productions and the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center's Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner Cultural Arts Center present a one-night-only evening of stand-up comedy with Vickie Shaw at the Center's Renberg Theatre on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 8 p.m. In addition to general admission tickets, VIP tickets are available that include preferred seating and a post-show reception with Ms. Shaw.

Lily Tomlin to Host 2013 Women's Media Awards, 8/10

The one and only Lily Tomlin will host The 2013 Women's Media Awards this year. Jane Fonda, Robin Morgan and Gloria Steinem, Co-Founders of the Women's Media Center, made the announcement. This celebration will be held on October 8th at 583 Park Avenue in New York City. Tables and tickets can be purchased now.

THE LARAMIE PROJECT: TEN YEARS LATER to Make LA Premiere at L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center, 9/11-11/16

The L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center's Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner Cultural Arts Center is set to present the Los Angeles premiere of The Laramie Project: Ten Years Later at the Davidson/Valenti Theatre with preview performances on September 11 and 12, and the official opening set for Friday, September 13 at 8pm. Written by Moises Kaufman, Leigh Fondakowski, Greg Pierotti, Andy Paris and Stephen Belber, and directed by Ken Sawyer, the production will run through November 16.

Nona Hendryx Plays Renberg Theatre Tonight

Gay & Lesbian Center's Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner Cultural Arts Center proudly presents rock/funk/R & B legend Nona Hendryx, the two-fisted, avant-garde alumnus of the groundbreaking vocal group Labelle ('Lady Marmalade'), in a high-energy, multi-media-techno mix of new works as well as her classic material ('Busting Out,' 'Why Should I Cry?'). Hendryx's performance incorporates cutting-edge music technology, including a Plexiglas tutu with built-in speakers, wireless remote-controlled visuals, and the wired-up ability to manipulate digital instruments. With powerfully principled lyrics wrapped in funky grooves, soulful vocals, and driving, rock-charged rhythms, Hendryx is once again discovering new artistic territory and ushering in the future.

ELECTRIC SUMMER Exhibition Opens Today at L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center

Gay & Lesbian Center's Advocate & Gochis Galleries present Electric Summer, an exhibition of original artworks by New York-based artist Gina Raphaela and the renowned rock/funk/R & B music legend Nona Hendryx. A free opening reception, featuring a special performance piece by Ms. Hendryx, will take place today, July 11, 7-9 p.m., in the galleries, located at the Center's Village at Ed Gould Plaza. The exhibit is curated by Katie Pomerantz and will run through August 17.
