Netflix today announced QUINCY, a powerful new documentary about the legendary Quincy Jones, directed by Jones's daughter Rashida Jones (Angie Tribeca, Hot Girls Wanted) and Alan Hicks (Keep On Keepin' On). QUINCY is produced by Paula DuPré Pesmen and executive produced by Jane Rosenthal and Berry Welsh from Tribeca Productions and Adam Fell from Quincy Jones Productions. The film will launch globally on Netflix on September 21 and have a limited theatrical release.

Netflix has announced the cast of upcoming limited series Central Park Five, created by Academy Award Nominee Ava DuVernay. DuVernay will also write and direct the narrative series which will be four episodes in length. 

TODAY's Sheinelle Jones heads to lower Manhattan to catch up with actor Robert De Niro and producer Jane Rosenthal, co-founders of the Tribeca Film Festival. Highlights of this year's festival include a documentary about late comedian Gilda Radner, a virtual reality film, and De Niro's interview with Bradley Cooper.

The 17th annual Tribeca Film Festival, presented by AT&T, announced the winners of the two Audience Awards - the audience choice for best narrative and documentary feature films - sponsored by AT&T. To Dust, written and directed by Shawn Snyder, was honored with the Narrative award and United Skates, directed by Dyana Winkler and Tina Brown, was given the Documentary award. Each award comes with a cash prize of $10,000.

The 17th annual Tribeca Film Festival, presented by AT&T, announced the winners of its competition categories at the awards ceremony this evening, sponsored by Chloe Wine Collection, at BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center. Top honors went to Diane for the Founders Award for Best U.S. Narrative Feature, Smuggling Hendrix for Best International Narrative Feature, and Island of the Hungry Ghosts for Best Documentary Feature. The Festival awarded $145,000 in cash prizes. Tribeca runs through April 29, 2018.

Taylor Ré Lynn, American actress and producer of the Golden Globe nominated film The Fencer, attended the Tribeca Film Festival World Premiere of the new Gilda Radner documentary Love Gilda. Lynn is an associate producer of the ground-breaking documentary that premiered on April 18, 2018 at the Beacon Theatre.

Actor Robert De Niro and producer Jane Rosenthal, co-founders of the Tribeca Film Festival, visit TODAY to talk about this year's festival, which spotlights female filmmakers. De Niro also says that he hopes to reprise his “Saturday Night Live” Robert Mueller impersonation in future sketches in which he'll arrest President Trump and “escort him to jail.”

Tribeca Film Institute and Charitybuzz are bringing screen legends Robert De Niro and Al Pacino back together for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The highest bidder and their lucky guest will join the actors for a private lunch, courtesy of De Niro in New York City. The proceeds will benefit the Tribeca Film Institute, which provides funding and resources to diverse groups of exceptional filmmakers and media artists, empowering these storytellers to be catalysts for change in their communities and around the world. The auction will launch on Thursday, March 22 at 9 AM EST, and the bidding will close on Thursday, April 5 at 3 PM EST.
