NEA Awards $20,000 to Irvine Barclay Theatre

In its first 50 years, the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) awarded more than $5 billion in grants to recipients in every state and U.S. jurisdiction, the only arts funder in the nation to do so. Today, the NEA announced awards totaling more than $27.6 million in its first funding round of fiscal year 2016, including an Art Works award of $20,000 to Irvine Barclay Theatre to support the theatre's Dance and Movement Portfolio.
Chicago Human Rhythm Project Receives $10,000 from NEA

The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) announced today that Chicago Human Rhythm Project (CHRP), the nation's premier presenter of American tap dance and international contemporary percussive arts, is among the arts organizations nationwide receiving awards totaling more than $27.6 million. CHRP intends to use its Art Works award of $10,000 to support Chicago-based concerts and education programs that focus on American tap, diverse percussive dance traditions and intra-city cultural exchange.
Broward Cultural Division to Receive Art Works Grant from NEA

National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Chairman Jane Chu announced earlier this year that Broward Cultural Division is one of 21 local arts agencies nationwide to receive an NEA Art Works grant. The Broward Cultural Division was recommended for a $15,000 award to support the convening of A Creative and Cultural Industries Symposium: The Future of the Latin American, Caribbean, & South Florida Economies. The Division will partner with the University of Florida and Broward College to present the Symposium on May 20, 2016 during the University of Florida's Brazilian Music Institute at Broward College's Central Campus.

National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Chairman Jane Chu announced 69 Our Town awards totaling almost $5 million through the Our Town program's fifth year of funding. Cleveland Public Theatre (CPT) is one of those recommended organizations and will receive $150,000 for Station Hope 2016. The NEA received 275 applications for Our Town this year and will make grants ranging from $25,000 to $200,000.

In May the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) awarded 1,023 grants totaling $74,326,900 to nonprofit arts organizations in all 50 states plus five U.S. jurisdictions. From that, twelve Utah groups received over $1 million in funding with the Utah Shakespeare Festival receiving $35,000 for its production of William Shakespeare's Henry IV Part Two as part of the larger History Cycle initiative.
