New Musical ACAPPELLA to Play NYMF

The New York Musical Theatre Festival and Grep Cooper Productions, LLC LLC have announced that Virginia Woodruff (Violet, Leap of Faith, The Color Purple, All Shook Up, Smokey Joe's Cafe), Cheryl A. Freeman (The Who's Tommy , Disney's Hercules), Tyler Hardwick , Anthony Chatmon II , Miche Braden and Darilyn Castillo have joined the cast of ACAPPELLA. Rounding out the company are Katrina R. Dideriksen, Gavyn Pickens, Emily Goglia, Rachel Gavaletz, Janelle McDermoth, Darryl Williams, Alex Koceja and Garrett Turner.

Road Theatre to Open 2015-16 Season with World Premiere of HOMEFREE This Fall

The Road Theatre Company and Taylor Gilbert, Founder/Artistic Director together with Sam Anderson, Artistic Director, are thrilled to announce the first show of its 2015-2016 - 25th Anniversary Season, the World Premiere of HOMEFREE, written by Lisa Loomer and directed by Ovation Award-winner Michael Matthews. HOMEFREE will open on Friday, September 18 at 8pm and run through Sunday, November 8th at the Road Theatre Company's second home, the Road on Magnolia, located in The NoHo Senior Arts Colony, 10747 Magnolia Blvd. in North Hollywood.

The New Black Fest Commissions Five Black Women Playwrights for UN-TAMED: HAIR BODY ATTITUDE This Fall

In the tradition of Facing Our Truth: Short Plays on Trayvon, Race and Privilege and HANDS UP: 6 Playwrights, 6 Testaments, The New Black Fest (guest curator playwright Dominique Morisseau) will commission five black women playwrights to write short plays entitled UN-TAMED: HAIR BODY ATTITUDE - Short Plays by Black Women. The playwrights include Cori Thomas, Nikkole Salter, Chisa Hutchinson, Lenelle Moise and Jocelyn Bioh.

Perseverance Theatre to Close Season with SEVEN HOMELESS MAMMOTHS WANDER NEW ENGLAND, 5/1-24

Perseverance Theatre (PT) ends the season with Seven Homeless Mammoths Wander New England, written by Madeleine George. Seven Homeless Mammoths Wander New England runs on the Perseverance Theatre Mainstage May 1 - May 24, 2015. Tickets are available through Hearth Side Books, the JACC, online at perseverancetheatre.org or by calling 907-463-TIXS (8497). There are three Pay-As-You-Can Previews on Sunday, April 26 at 4:00 pm, Wednesday, April 29 at 7:30 pm, and Thursday, April 30 at 7:30 pm and two Pay-As-You-Can Performances on Sunday, May 3 at 4:00 pm and Thursday, May 7 at 7:30 pm.

BWW Reviews: A LATE SNOW at SET
