The 5th Annual 'Tomatoes Got Talent' Contest celebrating the talents of women-over-40 who are currently not working pros took place on Monday, April 9 at The Triad. It was hosted by Randie Levine-Miller, who co-produced with Cheryl Benton, the founder and publisher of Thethreetomatoes.com, which sponsors the event. Jimmy Horan music directed what became a real musical happening!

The cast of Off-Broadway's musical smash THIS ONE'S FOR THE GIRLS is set to perform at the Upper West Side Barnes & Noble tomorrow (Thursday) at 7 PM to launch the newest book by the show's author, Dorothy Marcic. THIS ONE'S FOR THE GIRLS opened on October 27th at St. Luke's Theatre to unanimous rave reviews and was recently extended due to popular demand.

John Kander's NYC birthday bash started with a heartfelt speech by Chita Rivera shown via video at the Laurie Beechman Theatre in Times Square. Richard Skipper Celebrated the legendary composer and surviving half of Kander & Ebb, the great masters that brought us a canon of fine musical works that include Cabaret, Chicago, Steel Pier, Kiss of the Spiderwoman, and Woman of the Year among others.

In deference to Oscar night, the event will start one hour earlier than usual: from 4:30pm - 8:00pm at NOLA Rehearsal Studio, 244 W 54th St., 11th floor. Application is free, and you must apply prior to purchasing your spot, on sale February 24, 2018. If accepted, there is a participation fee of $70 for TRU Members ($85 for non-members, $25 for each collaborator), and your pitch slot can be purchased at https://truonline.org/events/speed-date-03-04-18/.

Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) presents the second workshop in the series How to Wrote a Musical That Works, Conflict & Obstacles, onSunday, February 25, 2018 from 10am - 6pm at NOLA Rehearsal Studio, 244 W 54th St., 5th floor, Studio 5. Submission fee is $10 for members, $20 for non-members. If accepted, it will be applied to a participation fee of $100 ($80 for TRU members). Those not selected will be invited and encouraged to attend the workshop as observers. The price is $55 ($35 for TRU members).
