Joining the cavalcade of stars at Richard Skipper's latest celebration of music and theatre is Broadway personality, Karen Ziemba.

Her distinguished career began as Morales in the original production of
A Chorus Line and Peggy Sawyer in 42nd Street. Ziemba's other Broadway bows include Roxie Hart in the current revival of Chicago, hence her connection to John Kander. Ziemba and John Kander (and Fred Ebb)'s association continued Off-Broadway in the Kander and Ebb revue And The World Goes 'Round (earning her a Drama Desk Award), Curtains, and Steel Pier. A performance earning her a Drama Desk Award. In 2000, she won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for her performance in Susan Stroman's Contact.

Renowned entertainer and host, Richard Skipper, brings together an exciting group of stars to sing "Happy Birthday" to John Kander including Tony Award-winner Lillias White (The Life); Donna Marie Asbury (currently in B'way's Chicago); Jana Robbins (Zorba and Man of La Mancha national tour); Lucia Spina (Kinky Boots original cast); and finally David Sabella (the original "Mary Sunshine" in the current revival of Chicago on Broadway.

On April 8, Richard Skipper Celebrates Firsts: Those who've created or played roles in original Broadway productions; May 20 will be An Afternoon with Liberace (David Maiocco) and Friends; June 9 for The American Popular Song Society, Richard Skipper Celebrates Cabaret and Cole Porter on Porter's actual Birthday; June 19 & 20, Richard Skipper & Russ Woolley will bring Carole Cook to Feinstein's/54 Below; and finally Richard Skipper Celebrates The Laurie Beechman Theatre showcasing their summer season with a special preview on June 24.

Richard Skipper has devoted his life and career to celebrating the theater's finest and most-honored stars. His monthly series, Richard Skipper Celebrates... is a 90-minute variety/talk show format reminiscent of the classic television specials baby boomers grew up with. Aside from quality musical entertainment, the audience gets a glimpse into the lives of the people behind their iconic presence.
