Westport Country Playhouse has announced its 2012-13 Family Festivities Series, featuring song-filled presentations based on popular children's books, on selected Sundays from November through April, 1 and 4 p.m. Tickets are $18. Family Festivities is supported in part by a contribution from the First Niagara Bank Foundation. Family Festivities Partners are Meredith and David Bukzin.

One year ago, the Berenstain Bears arrived Off-Broadway with their critically-acclaimed family musical The Berenstain Bears LIVE! Having entertained over 10,000 boys, girls, parents, and grandparents, June 25th marks the musical's official one year anniversary of performing every Saturday and Sunday in NYC.

This weekend the family musical, now in an open-ended run, will pay tribute to the late co-creator of The Berenstain Bears, Jan Berenstain, who passed away last Friday.

According to The Associated Press, Jan Berenstain, who with her husband Stan created the Berenstain Bears, has passed away following a stroke. She was 88 years old.

After a 35-week national tour, the beloved Berenstain Bears will be coming to life in New York City for a limited summer engagement! The Berenstain Bears LIVE! in Family Matters, the Musical will open on July 3 and run through September 4, 2011 at the Manhattan Movement and Arts Center (MMAC), 248 West 60 Street between Amsterdam and West End Avenue. The Berenstain Bears LIVE! in Family Matters, the Musical is presented by Matt Murphy Productions.
