Westport Country Playhouse has announced its 2012-13 Family Festivities Series, featuring song-filled presentations based on popular children's books, on selected Sundays from November through April, 1 and 4 p.m. Tickets are $18. Family Festivities is supported in part by a contribution from the First Niagara Bank Foundation. Family Festivities Partners are Meredith and David Bukzin.

One year ago, the Berenstain Bears arrived Off-Broadway with their critically-acclaimed family musical The Berenstain Bears LIVE! Having entertained over 10,000 boys, girls, parents, and grandparents, June 25th marks the musical's official one year anniversary of performing every Saturday and Sunday in NYC.

This weekend the family musical, now in an open-ended run, will pay tribute to the late co-creator of The Berenstain Bears, Jan Berenstain, who passed away last Friday.

According to The Associated Press, Jan Berenstain, who with her husband Stan created the Berenstain Bears, has passed away following a stroke. She was 88 years old.

This open-ended extension will be celebrated in a new, more convenient location at the Upper West Sides' Marjorie S. Dean Little Theatre (5 West 63rd Street), steps from Central Park, beginning on November 5, 2011. The Berenstain Bears LIVE! will continue to play at MMAC through October 30.

This healthy eating initiative was inspired by Michelle Obama's 'Let's Move' campaign and featured a healthy snack hour, a FREE performance of The Berenstain Bears LIVE!, a post-show dance party, face painting, and photos with the Berenstain Bears.

The Berenstain Bears LIVE! and sponsors NY Metro Parents, Manhattan Movement and Arts Center and Theatermania partner to bring Michelle Obama's 'Let's Move' to Bear Country, featuring a FREE performance of The Berenstain Bears LIVE! The first 100 families who download our 'Let's Move in Bear Country' pledge found at www.BerenstainBearsLive.com/LetsMove will be awarded two tickets to the event, which includes a pre-show Healthy Snacktime, a FREE performance, a post-show dance lesson, and face painting and photos with the Bears. 'Let's Move in Bear Country' takes place on Sunday, September 25th at 3:30pm at Manhattan Movement and Arts Center.
