Jayne Houdyshell Records Solo Version of 'Broadway Baby'- Free Download Available!

PS Classics, the label dedicated to the heritage of Broadway and American popular song, released the two-disc set Broadway cast album of the Kennedy Center's acclaimed revival of FOLLIES on Tuesday, November 29, 2011. Since then, the Metropolitan Museum of Art requested permission from PS Classics to include "Broadway Baby" in an upcoming compilation disc. Because the track on the New Broadway Cast Recording includes brief reprises of other tunes, Jayne Houdyshell kindly went back into the studio to record a new solo ending.

James Goldman and Stephen Sondheim's FOLLIES closes tonight, June 9, at Los Angeles' Ahmanson Theatre after a critically acclaimed run. Nominated for eight Tony Awards, the show has been through quite the journey, beginning at Washington, D.C.'s Kennedy Center in May 2011, then making its transfer to Broadway's Marquis Theatre, where it opened in September of 2011 and ran through January 22, 2012, and finally traveling to L.A. for its May 9, 2012, opening. David Leonard & Annette McLaughlin to Join Cast of MATILDA this August

David Leonard will take over the role of Miss Trunchbull from Tuesday 3 July 2012 and Annette McLaughlin will join the company as Mrs Wormwood from Tuesday 21 August 2012. They will play alongside Haley Flaherty and Steve Furst who have recently joined the Company as Miss Honey and Mr Wormwood. Bertie Carvel's last performance as Miss Trunchbull will take place on Sunday 1 July and Josie Walker will perform as Mrs Wormwood for the last time on Sunday 19 August.

Phill Niblock Set for Summer Solstice Concert 6/21, Feat. "Two Lips" with Dither and Neil Leonard

On June 21 the earth spins around its axis, summer begins in the northern hemisphere, Pagans leap through bonfires, the planet tilts and Roulette welcomes back maverick, minimalist composer Phill Niblock who will once again take over to celebrate the summer solstice in a visual and audio feast comparable only to the madness of Midsummer. This time round, Niblock presents "Two Lips" a scored orchestra piece featuring the Dither Guitar Quartet and Neil Leonard playing saxophone with Sax Mix. Phill Niblock will perform the Summer Solstice Concert on Thursday, June 21 at 8pm at Roulette, 509 Atlantic Ave Brooklyn.
