Arden Theatre Company concludes its 2010/11 main stage season with Wanamaker's Pursuit by Rogelio Martinez, a new work commissioned as part of the Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts, inspired by the Kimmel Center.

Virginia's Tony Award®-winning Signature Theatre presents Yasmine Reza's (God of Carnage) scathing dark comedy Art. Translated by Christopher Hampton, Reza's play examines the pressures friends place on one another and asks the question - are you who you think you are or are you who your friends want you to be? Signature Theatre's Resident Director Matt Gardiner will direct the award-winning play. Produced worldwide and performed in over thirty languages, Art won the 1998 Tony Award® for Best Play and the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Comedy.

Rehearsals have started and the fine-tuning begins at Portland Center Stage for Opus, by Michael Hollinger, the tart, witty play about the politics and passions that threaten a classical string quartet. Opus previews on Tuesday, April 12, 2011, with opening night set for April 15, and performances through May 8.

Theatre artists and productions nominated for The 27th Annual Helen Hayes Awards were announced this evening at a press conference hosted by The National Theatre in its Helen Hayes Gallery.

As an avowed Monty Python fan, it was with much anticipation that I looked forward to finally getting the opportunity to see SPAMALOT. Unfortunately, this hodgepodge of scenes cobbled from the cult film (although admittedly, it is a very large cult) Monty Python and the Holy Grail, failed to fully engage me. In fact, it's the additional elements that book writer and Python member Eric Idle includes, along with a couple of fresh songs he's written with frequent collaborator John Du Prez, that really standout in this dubious homage. But, a game cast put on a fine display nonetheless at the Fox Theatre this past weekend (January 7-9, 2011).

Virginia's Tony Award®-winning Signature Theatre today announced that, due to popular demand, the world premiere comedy, starring Helen Hayes Award winners Sherri L. Edelen (Signature's Sweeney Todd and Les Miserables) and Nancy Robinette, written and directed by Helen Hayes Awardee Joe Calarco (Signature's Side Show and Assassins), will now run from October 26 through December 26, 2010.

Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company will remount the company's smash-hit production of Bruce Norris' Clybourne Park from July 21 - August 14, 2011. The entire original cast is scheduled to return for the production, again directed by Woolly Mammoth Artistic Director Howard Shalwitz.

Donald Margulies's Pulitzer Prize-winning Dinner With Friends at Olney Theatre Center has been extended to Sunday, October 3. The Washington Post calls the Olney production an 'exacting, unsettling drama.' The Frederick News-Post declares, 'Dinner With Friends shines on Olney Theatre Center's black box stage.'

No one ever said marriage was easy, as Donald Margulies's Pulitzer Prize-winning Dinner With Friends reveals. Dinner With Friends plays the Mulitz-Gudelsky Theatre Lab August 25 through September 26.
