The Cannes Film Festival has announced the 66th Official Selection titles. The films were selected from among 1,858 submissions this year. Opening the festival will be Baz Luhrmann's highly anticipated reboot of THE GREAT GATSBY while Jerome Salle's ZULU will close the festivities.

Director Brooke Bishop, 24, and actress Allison Volk, 26, founded City Shakespeare Company (City Shakes) to make art accessible to the Los Angeles public. Their first production, in collaboration with the James Gray Gallery at Bergamot Station in Santa Monica, will be a one-night-only free performance of Shrew, Bishop's 'no-holds-barred adaptation of Shakespeare's most controversial rom-com,' Taming of the Shrew. It takes place on Valentine's Day.

A 7th Grader at M.S. 577 in Brooklyn, Ahmed has won a walk-on role in the Thursday evening, December 27 performance of A Christmas Story, The Musical.

Following a nationwide search, Johnny Rabe will don Ralphie's trademark spectacles. John Bolton (Spamalot, Contact, Titanic, "Boardwalk Empire," "Gossip Girl') will reprise his acclaimed performance as The Old Man from the 2011 National Tour. Joining Bolton will be Tony Award nominee Erin Dilly (Nice Work if You Can Get It, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang) as Mother, Zac Ballard (Oliver! at Irish Repertory Theatre) as little brother Randy, Caroline O'Connor (Chicago, Moulin Rouge) as school teacher Miss Shields, and Eddie Korbich (The Little Mermaid, The Drowsy Chaperone, Wicked) as Santa Claus.
