'Hamlet, Prince of Denmark!' the announcement at Wittenberg's graduation ceremony is barely made that beating drums accompany Hamlet Senior's glass hearse across the stage while Gertrude and Claudius look down woefully.

Almost two years after its first performance, the Royal Shakespeare Company's critically acclaimed Hamlet returns to the stage. A revival of Simon Godwin's 2016 production, this international tour brings together old and new faces. As the tour reaches its London leg, James Cooney spoke to us about returning to the play, the bond between Horatio and Hamlet, and dealing with self-doubt as an actor.

Feliks Mathur (Fear And Misery Of The Third Reich, Union Theatre), Molly Roberts (Jumping Puddles, Frantic Assembly/Open Clasp; The Snow Queen, New Vic Theatre; Free Fall, Pleasance Theatre - OffWestEnd Award-Nominated for Best Female Performance) and Hamish Rush (En Folkefiende, Pleasance Dome; Lies We Tell, BIFA Films Ltd 2016) return to Poleroid Theatre's This Must Be The Place following an acclaimed debut performance at Latitude Festival 2016.

Over the next six years, the RSC aims to produce every single Shakespeare play. Its 2016 season features Cymbeline, one of the lesser known but not lesser performed plays; this production is a transfer from Stratford-Upon-Avon, and there have been two productions at Shakespeare's Globe this year alone. Why the sudden revival? A fool boasts 'Britain is a world by itself' (and no, I don't mean Nigel Farage). In a post-Brexit Britain, these words ring truer than ever before in this bold production, which ironically seems to be lacking a sense of unity and cohesion too.

Beginning July 1, 2016, the Royal Shakespeare Company's acclaimed production of Shakespeare's Hamlet will play in select movie houses across North America.  The production, which opened to rave reviews at the RSC's home in Stratford-upon-Avon, was filmed for "Live from Stratford-upon-Avon," the RSC program that screens the world's greatest classical theatre company from Shakespeare's home town around the world through a continued partnership with Picturehouse Entertainment.

Hightide Festival Theatre presents Bottleneck at the Edinburgh Fringe 2014.

Bottleneck by Luke Barnes, directed by Steven Atkinson and performed by James Cooney, returns to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, after a hit run in 2012, playing at Underbelly's Topside at 13.30 Wednesday 30July - Sunday 24August.
