Tenor Paul Appleby is joined by pianist Brian Zeger for a solo recital as the winner of Juilliard's 14th annual Alice Tully Vocal Arts Recital Award on November 30 at 8 PM in Alice Tully Hall (Broadway at 65th Street). The program features Schubert's song cycle, 'Die schöne Müllerin', on poems by Wilhelm Müller.

The Hartt School, the comprehensive performing arts conservatory of the University of Hartford, is pleased to present 'Bang on a Can All-Stars' on Thursday evening, December 9, 2010, at 7:30 PM, in Millard Auditorium on the University of Hartford's West Hartford campus. Individual concert tickets are $30 and Series subscriptions are $100, with discounts on individual tickets and subscriptions for seniors, educators, University of Hartford alumni, students, and groups.

LA Opera's productions of rarely performed works as part of the Company's Recovered Voices series conducted by Music Director James Conlon were filmed for release on DVD and Blu-ray. The 2008 double-bill of Alexander Zemlinsky's Der Zwerg (The Dwarf) and Viktor Ullmann's Der zerbrochene Krug (The Broken Jug) is available now, and the 2009 presentation of Walter Braunfels' Die Vögel (The Birds) will be released on November 16, 2010. The videos, released on the Arthaus Musik label, will be distributed by Naxos Music.

Ravinia President and CEO Welz Kauffman and Music Director James Conlon today announced details of the festival's 2011 Chicago Symphony Orchestra programming, which commemorates the 75th anniversary of the CSO's summer residency. Running from July 7 through August 19, the 17-concert residency showcases the variety and versatility of the mighty ensemble with a world premiere, timeless classic repertoire, superstar virtuosos, two movie nights, a complete opera, two major commissions and a multi-layered celebration of the 200th birthday of composer/pianist Franz Liszt.
