We all know that Eliot Feld – who might be New York City's most accomplished man in dance – has a love for calisthenics, vernacular twists and grooves, and folklore. But since closing his ballet company in 2003, his work has been primarily with students who cannot understand the dry wit inherent to his choreography. The effect is decidedly discombobulating. One wishes that Mr. Feld would either up the ante in his work – there were no pirouettes or turns, though there was plenty of batterie, which tends to be more difficult – or further develop the artistry of his charges.

Broadway veteran and Tony Award nominee, Adam Pascal (RENT, Aida, Memphis, Disaster) will hold two exclusive masterclasses in Montreal for local performers. During the workshops, participants will work on musical theatre and pop selections. Enrollment in the master class is extremely limited and open to participants who will each have one-on-one time with Pascal, as well as auditors who can observe and learn from the audience. The masterclass will conclude with a Q & A with Adam along with a short performance.

In anticipation of Pride Week, Thank You For Coming Out (TYFCO) is teaming up with Fun Home to hold an improv workshop benefiting the organizations I'm From Driftwood and How We G.L.O.W. Each of the four groups amplify the LGBTQ voice in a different way and aim to promote an understanding among communities. This workshop will encourage empathy, inclusivity and acceptance within the LGBTQ community by using and teaching the ideals of improv - listening, trust, respect, affirmation and connection with each other through the principle of Yes, And. TYFCO and Fun Home's main goal is that both I'm From Driftwood and How We G.L.O.W. can take what they learned back to their organizations and continue to inspire others.

Theo Ubique Announces 2016-17 Season

Theo Ubique's upcoming season, announced today by Artistic Director Fred Anzevino (left), will include four productions of critically acclaimed works that are likely to be new to most Chicago audiences. The season will begin on September 23rd with the Chicago premiere of a 2015 Drama Desk nominee for Outstanding Musical - the off-Broadway hit Fly by Night, to be directed by Anzevino with music direction by Jeremy Ramey (below left). It will be followed in December by the Chicago premiere of Honky Tonk Angels - a book musical by Always... Patsy Cline writer Ted Swindley incorporating some of country music's greatest hits into a story of three women who form a country music singing trio.
