25 years after the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical production of Frances Hodgson Burnett's classic children's story The Secret Garden, the Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC) and the 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle co-presents the timeless tale from November 15-December 31 at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F Street NW). The Alliance Theatre is pleased to announce its holiday production on the Hertz Stage, Courtenay's Cabaret: Home for the Holidays. Based on her popular one-woman cabaret show, Courtenay Collins, with director Susan V. Booth, has created a new holiday cabaret that will include music, stories, surprises, cookies, crafts, and Courtenay's signature charm and good humor. Courtenay's Cabaret: Home for the Holidays will run on the Hertz Stage from December 2 - 24, 2016.

On December 13, 2015 Meg Flather revived her 1993 solo show PORTRAITS as part of Stephen Hanks' Metropolitan Room series NEW YORK CABARET'S GREATEST HITS (Associate Producer, Fr. Jeffrey Hamblin, MD). Backed by Paul Greenwood on piano and John Mettam on drums, and with Lennie Watts on board as Director to tweak the former show, Meg mesmerized the Metropolitan Room audience with what has become a critically acclaimed performance, perhaps one of her best ever. Flather then performed her new PORTRAITS three times early this year to packed houses at Don't Tell Mama. Now she's doing it one more time at the venue on Sunday, December 11 at 7 pm.

Sacrilege? Not according to the famous singer, actor, and songwriter Brel himself, who loved this musical revue. This Off-Broadway success was created in 1968 by Mort Shuman and Eric Blau to showcase Brel's French hits-in English. Brel saw the show many times, and said that Shuman and Blau had lifted his songs away from him, and given them to the world. The show ran for five years, with a total of 1,847 performances. Meanwhile, its director opened a second production in Toronto that same year, which became the longest-running Off-Broadway show in Canada.

It was the music of something beginning... Ragtime, the landmark Broadway musical, will play the Charing Cross Theatre (The Arches, Villiers Street), in London's West End, beginning October 8th and run through December 10th in a strictly limited engagement. Opening night is set for October 17th.
