The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County is proud to announce its ninth season of showcasing Broadway's greatest hits in the Ziff Ballet Opera House with a five-show subscription package that is power-packed with musical blockbusters. The Broadway in Miami 2014-2015 season presented by Bank of America includes The Book of Mormon. From the creators of South Park and winner of nine Tony® Awards, The Book of Mormon will play a limited two-week engagement (December 2 - 14, 2014).

Disney Theatrical Productions will hold an open call audition for male dancers for both the Broadway and upcoming North American touring productions of Newsies, the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical smash, in Los Angeles on Saturday, February 8 at 11am at the Hollywood United Methodist Church (6817 Franklin Avenue/Los Angeles, CA 90068). This audition will be first come, first serve and is for technically-trained Equity and non-Equity male dancers between 16 - 22 years old of all ethnicities who can tap and sing well.

Newsies, the Tony Award-winning "Critics' Pick" about to enter its third year on Broadway, welcomes Liana Hunt to the role of the show's leading lady Katherine Plumber, beginning Monday, February 3rd. Kara Lindsay, who created the role, will play her final performance this Sunday, February 2nd.

The 2014-2015 series will feature Atlanta premieres of Disney's NEWSIES, Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID, PIPPIN, MOTOWN THE MUSICAL, DIRTY DANCING as well the spectacular new production of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA. BLUE MAN GROUP will once again play the Fox Theatre; plus, Broadway's biggest blockbuster WICKED and crowd pleaser MAMMA MIA! will also be returning as options to the regular series subscription. Gloria Steinem, acclaimed feminist author and activist, took her family to see the Tony Award®-winning smash-hit musical Newsies at the Nederlander Theatre (208 W 41st St.) on Friday night. Following the performance, Ms. Steinem went backstage and enthusiastically greeted actress Kara Lindsay, who plays trailblazing journalist Katherine Plumber, exclaiming, 'a fellow organizer!' The two chatted at length about the 1899 newsboy strike on which the musical is based and the real-life journalist, Nellie Bly, who inspired Lindsay's character.

Cast members from Newsies, the Tony Award® winning new American musical, will appear with Neil Patrick Harris in the opening number of the 2013 Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade. The original song, 'Are You Ready For Christmas?,' is staged by Newsies' Tony Award winning choreographer, Christopher Gattelli and written by David Javerbaum ('The Daily Show,' Cry-Baby) and Adam Schlesinger ('Fountains of Wayne,'Cry-Baby), who have previously penned tunes for Neil Patrick Harris' hosting turns on The Tony Awards and The Emmy Awards. The parade airs on ABC, beginning at 10:00am EST/ 9:00am C/P, on Christmas morning, Wednesday, December 25, 2013.
