USO and Jack Daniel's Celebrate 20th “Toast to the Troops” Event

To commemorate an eight-year history, and the 20th 'Toast to the Troops' care package assembly event, over 5,000 Operation USO Care Packages were assembled yesterday by military spouses, USO North Carolina volunteers and Jack Daniel's employees at the Fort Bragg fairgrounds. Following the assembly event, Country Music Star and Army Veteran Craig Morgan treated more than 3,000 troops, military families and members of the Fort Bragg community to a free concert.

The 19th Jack Daniel's/USO 'Toast to the Troops' Care Package Stuffing Party will hit Jacksonville, FL, on July 11 for a fun-filled day at The Jacksonville Landing where dedicated volunteers and the general public will fill 7,500 care packages for our servicemen and women serving overseas.

Presented in Raleigh Little Theatre's Gaddy Goodwin Teaching Theatre, Tigers Be Still is the simple enough story of a young woman, Sherry, trying to get her life back together as she starts her job as a middle school art teacher with a side gig as an art therapist. Oh, and it also happens that a tiger has escaped from the local zoo.

Here we are at the penultimate episode of GIRLS' second season - a season, that, well, hasn't felt entirely like GIRLS. At least not the narrow-in-scope, boho-Brooklyn series we came to know from the first go around last year. It's turned into more of a depressing mish-mash of millennial problems and bad life decisions, that constantly make me question my own. Lena Dunham has taken GIRLS to a dark place, occasionally good, but for the most part, mediocre.
