Palm Beach Dramaworks Presents Tennessee Williams' A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE

Tennessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire, the Pulitzer Prize-winner that is on virtually every critic's short list of greatest American plays, opens Palm Beach Dramaworks' 2019-2020 season on Friday, October 11 (8pm) at the Don & Ann Brown Theatre. Performances continue through November 3, with specially priced previews on October 9 and 10 (7:30pm). J. Barry Lewis directs.

It's October 4, 1965, and Pope Paul VI is spending 14 hours in New York City, marking the first visit by a reigning pope to the United States. Millions line the streets to greet him and zookeeper Artie Shaughnessy, a wannabe Hollywood songwriter with big dreams and no discernible talent, joins the throngs in the hope that a papal blessing will help propel him out of Queens, away from his mentally ill wife, Bananas, and into a new life in Los Angeles with his girlfriend, Bunny Flingus. 

Nominations Announced For The 43rd Annual Carbonell Awards

A drama about an acting troupe performing a controversial play and a world premiere musical about life in Cuba past and present garnered the most nominations for the 43rd annual Carbonell Awards, which honor excellence in theater in South Florida.  Indecent, produced by Palm Beach Dramaworks in West Palm Beach, earned nine nominations, and Havana Music Hall, produced by Actors' Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre in Coral Gables, earned seven.

Palm Beach Dramaworks Presents A New Season Of DRAMALOGUE – Talking Theatre!

Charles Busch has forged a unique place in the world of entertainment as playwright, actor, director, novelist, cabaret performer, and drag icon. On Tuesday, December 11, the multi-talented artist comes to Palm Beach Dramaworks to kick off the popular series Dramalogue - Talking Theatre! In addition to discussing his illustrious career with Sheryl Flatow, Busch will also perform several songs, accompanied on the piano by Tom Judson. The program will be presented twice, at 2pm and 7pm, at the Don & Ann Brown Theatre.   

South Florida's 2017-18 Silver Palm Theatre Awards Announced

The South Florida Silver Palm Theatre Awards, founded eleven years ago to honor theatrical excellence in South Florida, has announced that this year it will present the coveted award to 30 individuals and organizations.

INDECENT Opens at Palm Beach Dramaworks on Oct. 19

Indecent, Paula Vogel's warm, poignant, powerful play that resurrects the playwright Sholem Asch and the journey of his groundbreaking 1907 work, God of Vengeance, opens Palm Beach Dramaworks' nineteenth season on Friday, October 19 (8pm) at the Don & Ann Brown Theatre.

Sandy Duncan soared on Broadway in Peter Pan, made a splash in My One and Only, and rocked it as Roxie in Chicago. OnTuesday, January 9, the multi-talented, three-time Tony Award nominee comes to Palm Beach Dramaworks to take part in the popular series Dramalogue Talking Theatre! Duncan will appear live, onstage with Sheryl Flatow, to discuss her fascinating, 60-year career that began in a summer production of The King and I in Dallas when she was 12. Palm Beach Dramaworks presents Lillian Hellman's The Little Foxes. Considered by many to be Hellman's masterpiece, this classic play about greed and the path of destruction it leaves in it's wake is as timely now as when it was written in 1939.
