The Flea Theater announced today that Obie and Drama Desk Award winner Deirdre O'Connell has joined the cast of World Premiere of THE VANDAL by Hamish Linklater (TV's The New Adventures of Old Christine). Pre-audition workshops for 'Completeness,' Itamar Moses' quirky romantic comedy, will be held at the Des Moines Community Playhouse at 6:00 PM, Sunday, Dec. 9; 6:30 PM, Monday, Dec. 10; and 6:30 PM, Tuesday, Dec. 11. Workshops will be led by John Viars, Playhouse executive director and director of 'Completeness.' Sunday and Monday pre-auditions are open to the public; Tuesday is by appointment only.

After a successful run at The Flea, the theater has announced the extension of the U.S. Premiere of I HATE F*CKING MEXICANS by Luis Enrique Gutierrez Ortiz Monasterio "the enfant terrible of contemporary Mexican theater." Translated by Debbie Saivetz, Ana Graham, and Danya Taymor and directed by Ms. Taymor, a Flea Resident Director; the production features members of The Bats and The Riot Group's Adriano Shapman. Previews began October 9, with opening night on October 18. The show is now extended with limited performances through December 11.
