Charisma, Brassroots and ONE MAN, TWO GUVNORS at Bank Holiday River Stage Festival

On 26-29 August the National Theatre brings a jam-packed programme of work to the River Stage Festival. Experience the joy that is Brassroots; exquisite techno and house sets from Charisma; and the unrivalled Dom Coyote, who has performed and written music for some of the world's most exciting theatre companies. A further highlight will be a free outdoor screening of the acclaimed NT production, One Man, Two Guvnors starring James Corden, who won a Tony for the role of Francis Henshall.

Ellen McDougall Appointed New Artistic Director of Gate Theatre

The Gate Theatre today announces that Ellen McDougall has been appointed as its new Artistic Director. McDougall, who takes up the position in March 2017, is currently an Associate Artist at the Gate, served as Associate Director for two years from 2012, and directed an acclaimed production of Idomeneus at the theatre in 2014. She replaces Christopher Haydon who leaves to pursue a Clore Fellowship and a number of freelance opportunities.

FRONT Exhibition Company announces the launch of FRONT International: Cleveland Exhibition for Contemporary Art, a new large-scale, multi-venue, citywide contemporary art program that will take place in Cleveland every three years. This exhibition has been conceived of by the Co-Artistic Directors,Michelle Grabner and Jens Hoffmann, following an invitation by FRONT International CEO & Executive Director Fred Bidwell. The first edition, entitled An American City, will take place July 7 to September 30, 2018, and aims to rethink the conventional biennial or triennial exhibition model.

Black Choreographers Festival Announces BCF SUMMER SERIES, 8/26

OAKLAND, CA, July 21, 2016 -- The Black Choreographers Festival (BCF) has announced the program for its annual BCF Summer Series, featuring works by emerging and established African and African American choreographers, as well as pre-professional youth dancers. Featured artists include Gregory P. Dawson, director of dawsondancesf; Chris Evans in collaboration with Byb Chanel Bibene and musician David Boyce; Antoine Hunter, director of Urban Jazz Dance Company; Pat Taylor, director of JazzAntiqua Dance Ensemble; Latanya Tigner and Colette Eloi with Dimensions Dance Theater; and Kendra Barnes, artistic director of the Kendra Kimbrough Dance Ensemble and BCF co-director.
