The avant-garde play starred marionettes created by Helen Haiman Joseph, who created The Puppet Players Theatre at CPH in the mid-1920s.

On Monday, June 22, 2015, over 25 company members (Broadway, National, International, Asian World Tour, Regional) of the multiple Tony-award winning musical RENT helped celebrate LGBT pride with a special tribute to Jonathan Larson's contributions to the theater and LGBT communities. On hand were special guest speakers and original RENT creative team members Marlies Yearby (Tony nominee, original RENT choreographer) and Billy Aronson (original RENT collaborator). Broadway Sings for Pride will roar into their 5th year and celebrate New York City LGBT Pride with 'Roar', their fifth annual benefit concert, benefiting the Tyler Clementi Foundation. The one-night benefit, will feature songs that embody gay perseverance, marked by an array of musical performers from the world of Broadway, pop and beyond. The night will feature two special musical reunions from the companies of RENT and A Chorus Line.
Broadway favorite Frenchie Davis (American Idol, The Voice, Broadway's RENT) will make her Broadway Sings for Pride debut in 'ROAR' which will celebrate NYC Gay Pride. Frenchie known for her powerful voice will be apart of group numbers and a solo piece during the event. Frenchie appeared on American Idol's second season where she showcased her soulful voice. She made her Broadway debut in RENT as the 'Seasons of Love' soloist in the Tony-award winning show RENT. She was also seen in the starring role of Effie in a West Coast-touring production of Dreamgirls, which appeared in Sacramento, San Jose, Seattle. Davis also made it to the top 8 of The Voice as a member of Christina Aguilera's team.
