Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) announces the 2013 TRU Producer Bootcamp: Weekend Intensive for Showcase Producing on Saturday and Sunday, July 13-14, 2013 from 10am-6pmat The Players Theatre's Steve & Marie Sgouros Theatre, 3rd floor, 115 MacDougal Street, NYC. After July 1st, registration is $260 ($225 for TRU members).

BWW Interviews: Naomi Goldberg Haas

Naomi Goldberg Haas is a dancer, master teacher, choreographer and director of DVP. She is the creator of Variable Pop Expressive Dance Method and Movement Speaks - a Community Collaborative Dance Program. Highlights from her work in theater, opera and film include collaborations with The Klezmatics, composer Michael Nyman, playwright Tony Kushner, directors Brian Kulick and Oskar Eustis and Disney animation. Her work with the Silesian Dance Theater and persons with disabilities was presented in 2010 at the International Contemporary Dance Festival in Poland and in 2011 at Chutzpah Festival in Vancouver, B.C. Recent projects include Golem with the Czech American Marionette Theater for the 50th anniversary of La Mama etc. She formerly danced with Pacific Northwest Ballet and holds an MFA from Tisch Dance at NYU. She has taught dance at Cal State, Long Beach and Loyola Marymount University and currently teaches at NYU, the Harkness Dance Center at the 92 Y and in DVP's programs.

Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) announces that submissions are open for the TRU 2013 Combined Audition Event, produced by Jaye Maynard and Michelle Slonim, and presented in association with Actors Access, Actors Connection, Modernage/HeadshotRepros.com, People's Improv Theater (The PIT), The Players Theatre, Ripley Grier Studios, Studio 7 Photography, TheaterMania, Wag That Reel and Weist-Barron Studios. Auditions will take place Saturday and Sunday, April 6-7, 2013 from 10am-6pm at People's Improv Theater (The PIT), 123 East 24th Street, NYC. Early bird registration is $50 ($40 for AEA and TRU members) before March 5. From March 6 to registration closing on March 25, the fee is $75 ($65 for AEA and TRU members).

HENRY V and SEED Set for Classical Theatre of Harlem

Under new leadership, The Classical Theatre of Harlem is proud to present two gripping world premiere productions that mark the Company's return to full-scale works. From August 5 - September 4, The Classical Theatre of Harlem will present Shakespeare's great history play, Henry V, in a new staging directed by Jenny Bennett that features OBIE award-winner Ty Jones in the title role. An acclaimed veteran of the Company and driving force behind its survival, Jones heads a cast of 15 in a raw, timeless production. His interpretation of King Henry V not only highlights the character's charisma and inspirational power to lead, but also his heroic faults and morally questionable tactics.

Restoration of Richard Rodgers Amphitheater at Marcus Garvey Park Unveiled

Parks & Recreation Commissioner Adrian Benepe today joined Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer; City Council Member Inez Dickens; Community Board 11 Chair Matthew Washington; Marcus Park Alliance President and Secretary/Treasurer Carla MacIntosh and Valerie Jo Bradley; City Parks Foundation Executive Director David Rivel; and Mary Rodgers Guettel, daughter of the composer Richard Rodgers and executive board member of the Rodgers Family Foundation, to cut the ribbon on $7 million in improvements to the restored bandshell and amphitheater at Marcus Garvey Park.
