The Toronto Alliance for the Performing Arts (TAPA) today announced the date, creative team, host and venue for the 37th Annual Dora Mavor Moore Awards, the awards show and party that celebrates extraordinary Toronto talent in the performing arts. Dora Awards Producer Jacoba Knaapen announced that the much-anticipated event will take place on Monday, June 27 and that it will, for the third time in a row, be held under the stars at Harbourfront Centre. Tickets go on sale May 31.

Producers The Shubert Organization and The Nederlander Organization announced today that chart-topping British pop star Leona Lewis will play the role of 'Grizabella,' the Glamour Cat, in the first-ever Broadway revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber's record-breaking musical, CATS. One of the biggest hits in theatrical history, CATS will return to Broadway this summer at the Neil Simon Theatre (250 W 52nd Street) with preview performances beginning Thursday, July 14, 2016, and an official opening set for Sunday, July 31, 2016.

The Drama League (Executive Artistic Director, Gabriel Shelian-Shanks) gathers today for the 82nd Annual Drama League Awards Ceremony, hosted by 2016 Tony® Award-nominees, Zachary Levi (She Loves Me) and Megan Hilty (Noises Off), in the Broadway Ballroom at the Marriott Marquis Times Square (1535 Broadway). 

Theatre fans and Broadway's biggest behind-the-scenes players went 'all in' last night, May 16, 2016, at the second annual edition of BROADWAY BETS, Broadway's official poker tournament, raising a spectacular $247,800 for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

The annual Broadway League Awards, honoring excellence and achievement for Touring Broadway, were announced today during the Broadway League's 2016 Spring Road Conference. First presented in 1992, the Broadway League Awards recognize the contributions of those who have displayed exemplary service to the Broadway industry and are considered innovators of their craft.

Broadway's biggest behind-the-scenes players - from major theatre owners and advertisement agencies to production companies and producers - have grabbed seats at the table for Broadway Bets, Broadway's official poker tournament, on Monday, May 16, 2016. The evening is produced by and benefits Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

Although the Royal Alexandra Theatre will close for six months for a major renovation as soon as the show closes, the producers of KINKY BOOTS have managed to squeeze in one more final performance of the immensely popular musical.  The extra show, added to keep up with demand, will be performed on Sunday, May 15 at 7PM.

The Kennedy Center presents KINKY BOOTS, the smash-hit musical that brings together four-time Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein (Book) and Grammy Award-winning rock icon Cyndi Lauper (Tony Award winner for Best Score for KINKY BOOTS). The production makes its Washington, D.C. premiere at the Kennedy Center for four weeks from June 14 through July 10, 2016, in the Kennedy Center Opera House.

Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) is excited to announce the nominations and presenters for TUTS' 14th annual Tommy Tune Awards, which will be held on April 19 at 7:30 p.m. at The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts. The Tommy Tune Awards recognize and reward excellence in the production of musical theatre by high school students and their teachers. Co-hosts for this year's awards ceremony include Sarah Pepper and Jim Bernhard. Pepper is a host on Hot 95.7. Bernhard has written several original productions that have debuted at TUTS and authored the organization's theatrical history book, "Stars In Your Eyes".

The 2016 Drama League Award Nominees for Outstanding Play, Outstanding Revival of a Play, Outstanding Musical, Outstanding Revival of a Musical, and the much-coveted Distinguished Performance Award were just announced this morning at Sardi's, by Aladdin stars Adam Jacobs, Courtney Reed and James Monroe Iglehart. TUTS Underground presents the cast of the Heathers: The Musical, which makes its Houston debut on April 28, 2016. Based on the 1989 cult classic film, this musical is a dark, delicious story of the most powerful and ruthless clique at Westerberg High - Heather, Heather and Heather. Veronica Sawyer, the only non-Heather of the clique, rejects their ruthless regime when she falls for bad boy J.D. who wants to see all the Heathers six feet under.

The Tony Award-winning hit musical AN AMERICAN IN PARIS celebrates its first year on Broadway tonight, Tuesday, April 12. Since it opened on April 12, 2015 at the Palace Theatre, AN AMERICAN IN PARIS has played 416 regular performances and 29 previews and has been seen by over 650,000 people. Following the performance on April 12, the cast will be treated to a special anniversary cake provided by Carlo's Bakery.

Kinky Boots, the huge-hearted, high-heeled hit, today announces the opening of a new booking period, with tickets now available until Saturday 14 January. Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS is doubling down on Broadway Bets, Broadway's official poker tournament, which will return for its second edition on Monday, May 16, 2016. The spirited annual event will welcome celebrities, industry insiders and poker-faced theatre fans to Sardi's Restaurant (234 West 44th Street), New York City's iconic theatre district restaurant.
