At 8 p.m. ET, 'Fashion Star' (0.7/3 in 18-49, 3.0 million viewers overall) maintained its 18-49 rating week to week and is currently reporting a season high in total viewers with a 10 percent increase over last week's overall audience (3.008 million vs. 2.730 million), pending updates. 'Fashion Star' is currently #2 in the hour among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in total viewers.
ABC won Friday in Adults 18-49, leading by double digits over CBS (+18%), NBC (+30%) and Fox (+44%). ABC's Shark Tank continued its run as Friday's #1 TV series in Adults 18-49 and 20/20 held the #2 position. In addition, 20/20 tied Shark Tank as the night's top-rated show in Adults 25-54. 20/20 was also Friday's #1 newsmagazine in viewers and key adults, outdelivering NBC's Dateline at 9pm and Rock Center at 10pm.
"NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams" was the most-watched network evening newscast for the week ending April 26, 2013, according to Nielsen Media Research data.
For the 2nd week in a row (w/o 4/22/13), ABC (6.4 million) was the No. 2 most-watched TV network to CBS, outdrawing Fox by 5% (6.1 million) and NBC by 25% (5.1 million).
At 8 p.m. ET, 'Fashion Star' (0.7/3 in 18-49, 2.9 million viewers overall) finished within 0.1 of a point of its previous 18-49 rating (which matched the series high), despite the prior week's preemption for news coverage. In total viewers, 'Fashion Star' is currently running within 1 percent of that prior telecast (2.916 million vs. 2.945 million on April 12), making this the #2 'Fashion Star' since March 8, when the season premiere averaged 2.961 million viewers (pending updates).
On Tuesday we had our first costume fittings and everyone seems very happy with them. Suits and dresses were generally held to be attractive and "right" for the characters. The shoes especially seemed to have been a big hit, but perhaps it is just that everyone, men and women, likes glamorous footwear!
