LILLIAS WHITE And THE PALM BEACH POPS Honor LOUIS ARMSTRONG

Bob Lappin & The Palm Beach Pops celebrate the great Louis Armstrong with Tony Award Winner Lillias White and renowned trumpeter and vocalist Longineu Parsons to honor the everlasting legacy of this legendary musician. With a six-night South Florida engagement entitled "Wonderful World: A Salute to Louis Armstrong," this concert will run February 6 & 7 at the Kravis Center, West Palm Beach, February 8, 10 & 11 at The Carole and Barry Kaye Performing Arts Auditorium at FAU, Boca Raton and February 12 at the Eissey Campus Theatre at Palm Beach State College in Palm Beach Gardens. Fans will swing to the sounds of classic Armstrong standards such as 'Hello Dolly,' 'Mack the Knife,' and 'Wonderful World,' among many other favorites.

Bay Area Caberet Hosts Lillas White's Tribute to Cy Coleman, 5/14

Bay Area Cabaret's season finale will star one of Broadway's greatest vocal talents, Lillias White. Returning this spring from Nigeria, where she will reprise her Tony-nominated role in FELA!, White is the winner of Broadway's 'Triple Crown' (a Tony Award, Drama Desk Award, and an Outer Critics Circle Award) for her role in Cy Coleman's The Life.

Kendra Carter, Director of Talent Diversity Initiatives, NBC Universal (NBCU), announced today that NBCU will present its grand finale showcase that will determine this year's winners of the seventh-annual 'Stand-up for Diversity' comic search. The event, hosted by superstar comedian Russell Peters (2009 Forbes Top-10 highest grossing comic), will be conducted on December 8th at The Comedy Store in West Hollywood.

Transport Group to Present Revival of Shaw's 'Bury the Dead' Starting 10/31

Transport Group, the winner of a special 2007 Drama Desk Award and a 2007 Obie Award, will present the first major New York revival of Irwin Shaw's Bury the Dead, directed by Joe Calarco, beginning performances Friday, October 31, at 220 East 4 Street, between Avenues A and B (6 to Astor Place, W/N to 8th Street or F/V to Second Avenue). The opening has been scheduled for Sunday, November 9, at 3pm.

Transport Group, the winner of a special 2007 Drama Desk Award and a 2007 Obie Award, has announced its 2008-09 season: Bury the Dead, written by Irwin Shaw and directed by Joe Calarco, and Being Audrey, music and lyrics by Ellen Weiss, book by James Hindman, additional book and lyrics by Cheryl Stern, developed with Jack Cummings III and Adam R. Perlman, and directed by Jack Cummings III.
