On August 24th, cast members from the Broadway hit Newsies will reunite on the stage of 54 Below, exactly 1 year after closing. Audience members can expect to hear a variety of styles of music as well as stories and memories shared by the cast.

Award winning songwriter Joey Contreras releases new music video for Ohio, his ode to midwestern boys. The single is taken from the iTunes Pop charting album, Young Kind of Love - which features collaborations with The Voice contestant Loren Allred, DCD2 Records recording artist LOLO, and a host of exciting Broadway talent.

The cast of the Tony Award-winning musical NEWSIES took their excited final bows at the Nederlander Theatre today to uproarious applause from a packed audience. NEWSIES featured a Tony Award-winning score with music by eight-time Academy Award winner Alan Menken and lyrics by Jack Feldman, with a book by four-time Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein. Produced by Disney Theatrical Productions, NEWSIES was directed by Tony nominee Jeff Calhoun and choreographed by Christopher Gattelli, who won a 2012 Tony Award for his work. NEWSIES enjoyed almost two and a half years on Broadway.

Tonight, August 14th, cast members from Newsies will take part in Stop the Presses: Newsboys of New York Rally at 54 Below.

A great, big Broadway season is on its way, with fourteen productions already slated to open in the next few months. Since bursting onto Broadway, Newsies has set and broken seven Nederlander Theatre house records on its way to becoming the highest-grossing show of the 2011-12 Broadway season. The show received 23 major theatrical nominations - including eight Tony Award nods - and won Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for Score and Choreography. One of Broadway's highest-profile hits, it has been featured nationally on 'Dancing with the Stars,' 'The View,' 'ABC World News,' 'Nightline,' 'Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade,' and 'The CBS Thanksgiving Day Parade.' The final day of 2013 brought with it yet another addition to the ever-growing collection of digital trading cards released in promotion of Disney's NEWSIES on Broadway.

Last night, Newsies cast members Jacob Guzman, David Guzman, and Iain Young traveled to Boston to see former cast member Kevin Carolan as Baloo in The Jungle Book at the Huntington Theatre Company. Performances continue through October 20. Check out the photo below!
