Andrea Goss, who plays Sally Bowles, a young British singer at the Kit Kat Club in CABARET, spoke with me from her Denver appearance last week. Andrea has also appeared in RENT and ONCE. CABARET opens at Omaha's Orpheum on October 11 and runs through the 16th.

In 1991, against all naysayers, Geoff Elliott & Julia Rodriguez-Elliott started a resident theatre company in Los Angeles to perform - the classics. The married couple, together with fellow American Conservatory Theatre alumni Art Manke, inaugurated A Noise Within. Today the Elliotts run ANW as co-producing artistic directors.

Although she's only a freshman in high school, Shelby Jones (who attends Murfreesboro's Middle Tennessee Christian School) has already amassed an enviable theater resume and established a reputation as one of the finest singers to be found onstage.

Caroline Innerbichler is likely recognizable if you've ever been to a BROADWAY SONGBOOK show at the Ordway or are a regular at Chanhassen where she played the lead in a popular show. She joins a youthful cast in REBELS! ON BROADWAY, continuing at the Ordway Sept. 29-30.

Maury Yeston, the composer and lyricist best-known for Nine and Titanic, visited the West End a few months before the West End opening of his new musical, Death Takes a Holiday. Based on a film (which was based on a play) this story tells of how Death changed his perspective. He used to not quite understand why everyone he came to collect was quite so aggrieved to die, until he met a particular woman who allowed him to realise quite what makes life worth clinging to. The side effect of Death's occupation being, though, that he can't collect anyone else while he's so distracted - Death the person and death the concept take a break!  Maury was kind enough to discuss his musical background, some of his better-known works and his latest venture for the stage.

Known to millions of television viewers as the snappy and charming Marc St. James on Ugly Betty, Michael Urie has since carved out a steady, thriving acting - and now directing - career; most effectively utilizing his training from Julliard. In between his current hosting gig on Logo's Cocktails & Classics, Michael is directing fellow C&C mate Drew Droege in his one-man show BRIGHT COLORS AND BOLD PATTERNS.

Set in post World War II Berlin, Frankenstein, 1945 explores the world of Victor Frankenstein, a young doctor who has recently severed ties to the Nazi medical experiments, and Elizabeth, a young Jewish engineer returning home to Germany. In trying to make peace with the horrors they have witnessed they try to develop a way to bring back the dead. Frankenstein, 1945 is a stage-noir thriller about the monsters created by us and within us... and what happens when we let them loose.

The Bay City Players will debut Unraveling Magicians, an original musical by native Ryan Sequin, in a staged reading on September 23rd and 24th in Bay City. Adapted from medieval Welsh folktale, Unraveling Magicians tells the story of a magical and royal family thrown into turmoil when a curse is cast upon one of their own. In an attempt to lift the curse, the family must resurface old wounds and finally acknowledge how deeply dysfunctional they have become. Despite distraction of power, the revelation of secrets, and a little wayward magic, is it possible for the family to remain intact?

Musical theatre actor Oliver Savile performed in tours of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Cats and Mamma Mia!, before joining the West End cast of Wicked in 2015. He's currently playing Fiyero as part of the 10th anniversary cast, which features Rachel Tucker, Suzie Mathers, Anita Dobson and Mark Curry.

On Today, Sept. 17 and Sunday, Sept. 18, 2016, The Outcast Theater on Whidbey Island, WA, Ned Farley, Artistic Director, will present two off-book staged readings of a new, full-length musical comedy BOLLYWOOD AND VINE by Edward Jordon (Book), Daniel Neiden (Music), and June Rachelson-Ospa (Lyrics). Musical arrangements and supervision by Charles Czarnecki; and musical preparation by Eileen Soskin. BOLLYWOOD AND VINE is a musical re-imagining of Edward Jordon's cult film of the same title.

Professional ballroom and Latin dancer Robin Windsor became a household name through stage and screen hits like Burn the Floor, Puttin' On The Ritz and Strictly Come Dancing. He's now touring the UK with his new show Keep Dancing.

Virginia's Tony-Award winning Signature Theatre presents the world premiere of The Gulf by DC playwright Audrey Cefaly. Walnut Street Theater opens its 208th season with the classic SOUTH PACIFIC with a stellar cast of Philly favorites and Broadway talent.

Two River Theater launches its 2016/2017 season with August Wilson's 'Ma Rainey's Black Bottom' from 9/10 to 10/9. The show is directed by Ruben Santiago-Hudson. Broadwayworld.com interviewed Chante Adams who will play Dussie Mae in the show.
