Cave States is a band from St. Louis, MO and is a collaboration between songwriters, Chris Grabau, Danny Kathrinerand Todd Schnitzer. The band's name is inspired largely by a nickname given to the state of Missouri and Plato's Allegory of the Cave.
Sterling Masters hails from Charlotte, NC and is currently appearing in Wicked on Broadway. Long before she made her Broadway debut in the show she grew up dancing in her mom's dance studio. She competed in dance competitions and still holds the record for being the first and only dancer to hold all four titles for Carolina Dance Masters. After a brief stint at Florida State, Sterling was cast in the national tour of Fosse and never looked back. She went on to perform (and dance captain) national tours of Thoroughly Modern Millie, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Wicked, to name a few.
Opening night quickly approaches at Nashville's historic Chaffin's Barn Dinner Theatre - which this year celebrates its 50th season - for Neil Simon's Rumors, first produced on the iconic and completely magical floating stage in 1991.
With Theater at the Center's premiere of the award-winning Broadway musical, NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT, only a few short week's away, things are in full swing (quite literally) for Chicago actress Erica Stephan. This zesty, swingin' show, set in the roaring 20's and chalked full of Gershwin classics, debuts at Indiana's highly acclaimed performing arts center. Before stepping into the shoes of tomboy Billie Bendix, Stephan took time for a quick Q&A.
Susan Sarandon and her co-star Rose Byrne stopped by NBC's TODAY to talk about their new film “The Meddler,” about a meddling mother and her successful (but single) daughter.
When Andrew Lippa, the Broadway composer, was commissioned by the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus to write I AM HARVEY MILK for its 35th anniversary in 2013, the hour-long work about the assassinated gay rights activist was called an oratorio. While it was a success from the start, people involved already thought it was ready to move on to something bigger. The result is I AM ANNE HUTCHINSON /I AM HARVEY MILK, which has its world premiere on April 23, at the Music Center at Strathmore, in North Bethesda, MD, a Metro ride from Washington, DC, starring Kristin Chenoweth, and composer-librettist Lippa.
The action at the Richard Rodgers Theatre began early, with performances by the students themselves and a Q&A session with cast members. Check out coverage of the event from last night's NBC NIGHTLY NEWS.

I fell into an orchestra pit. Just like the Coyote being chased by the Road Runner and ending up in a puff of smoke at the bottom of an endless canyon, I plunged into an empty black crevasse that was just as unforgiving. It was in the Avon Theatre, the year was 1983 and the show was The Gondoliers.

RAIN performs the full range of The Beatles' discography live onstage, a total of 36 songs on the night I attended. It's quite a treat going from The Beatles appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show through 'Let it Be' and 'Hey Jude,' two of the last songs the group recorded together, with each album time shift accompanied by costume and physical appearance changes by the group as well as many historical films/videos reflecting what was going on in the world at the time, from Vietnam to protests at home, their meditation trip to India, and the overall madness of screaming fans at Shea Stadium on 8-15-65.
