Huntington Theatre Company Announces SWEAT, THE BLUEST EYE, and More in 2019/2020

Huntington Theatre Company Artistic Director Peter DuBois and Managing Director Michael Maso announce the lineup of their 2019-2020 season, featuring three world premieres, a Pulitzer Prize-winning play, a classic Tony Award-winning comedy by one of the world's most celebrated playwrights, and two adaptations of powerful literary works. 

Geva Presents the Kitchen Theatre Company Production of THE ROYALE

Geva Theatre Center's 2018-2019 Fielding Studio Series concludes with The Royale, written by Marco Ramirez. This production comes to Geva from the Kitchen Theatre Company in Ithaca, N.Y., with the original cast and design team and is directed by Pirronne Yousefzadeh. The production begins performances on April 11 and runs in the Fielding Stage through April 28.

The Lyric Stage Company Of Boston & Actors' Shakespeare Project Present TWELFTH NIGHT

Twelfth Night is a tale of unrequited love hilarious and heartbreaking. Twins are separated during a shipwreck and are forced to fend for themselves in a strange land. The first twin, Viola, falls in love with Orsino, who dotes on Olivia, who falls for Viola but is idolized by Malvolio. Enter Sebastian, who is the spitting image of his twin sister is it possible for this to all end well? Well, it IS a comedy!

Original Stars Reunite for INDECENT In Los Angeles

The cast has been announced for the upcoming production of 'Indecent' by Pulitzer Prize winner Paula Vogel. This Tony Award-nominated play will be produced at the Ahmanson Theatre in a co-production with Huntington Theatre Company. Directed by Tony Award winner Rebecca Taichman, 'Indecent' runs from June 5 through July 7, 2019. The opening is set for June 9.

Huntington Offers Free Tickets To ROMEO AND JULIET To All Young Patrons

In an effort to engage young, new audiences and offer the opportunity to experience equal representation on stage, the Huntington Theatre Company has announced that it will now offer free tickets to all young patrons 25 and under for the remainder of performances of Romeo and Juliet. Romeo and Juliet is now playing through March 31 at the Huntington Avenue Theatre (264 Huntington Avenue, Boston).

Hartford Stage Announces Three Plays For The 2019/2020 Season

Hartford Stage announced today three plays for the upcoming 2019/2020 season, including Quixote Nuevo by Octavio Solis, Cry it Out by Molly Smith Metzler and Jane Eyre, adapted and directed by Hartford Stage Associate Artistic Director Elizabeth Williamson. Three additional mainstage productions will be announced in the coming weeks.

Actors' Shakespeare Project (ASP) announces its 2019-2020 season today, continuing to build on its legacy of producing intimate and relevant Shakespeare productions as well as new plays that examine contemporary issues of social justice.

Huntington Theatre Company Announces 2019 Breaking Ground Festival

The Huntington Theatre Company's 2019 Breaking Ground festival of new plays will be held April 12 - 14, 2019 at the Huntington's home for new work, the Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA. The festival is a vital part of the Huntington's new play development efforts and highlights the work of locally-based Huntington Playwriting Fellows and national writers in partnership with the Huntington. Over the last decade, Breaking Ground plays have gone on to appear at the Huntington as well as theatres in Boston, across the country, and internationally. 

Norwell High School Student Wins 2019 Poetry Out Loud State Finals

Norwell High School sophomore Rose Hansen was named Massachusetts's 2019 Poetry Out Loud (POL) Champion Sunday at Boston's Old South Meeting House. She bested 24 other finalists to earn the top honor. Second place went to Grace Hwang, a senior from International School of Boston, and placing third was Phaedra Plank, a junior from Nantucket High School.

The Huntington Theatre Company digs into the William Shakespeare canon and pulls out a plum written more than four centuries ago. 25 Students To Compete This Sunday In The Massachusetts State Finals Of POETRY OUT LOUD

Twenty-five students from across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts advanced from this weekend's five regional semi-final contests of the 14th annual Poetry Out Loud National Recitation Contest to compete in the State Finals on Sunday, March 10 at the Old South Meeting House (310 Washington Street, Boston). The event begins at 9:30am and is free and open to the public. The Huntington Theatre Company's Education Department has facilitated the Massachusetts chapter of this national contest in partnership with the Mass Cultural Council since its inception 14 years ago.

Massachusetts High School Students Compete At State Semi-Finals Of Poetry Out Loud

The Huntington Theatre Company's Education Department and Mass Cultural Council celebrate the 14th anniversary of the national Poetry Out Loud contest, having facilitated the contest in Massachusetts since its inception in 2006. This year, seventy-two high school students from across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts will participate in five regional semi-final contests March 2, March 3, and March 4. Semi-final contests will be held in Boston, Cape Cod, Framingham, Newburyport, and Springfield. All upcoming contests are free and open to the public.

Announcing Cast And Creative Team For JEEVES & WOOSTER In Perfect Nonsense

Hartford Stage announced today the cast and creative team for Jeeves & Wooster in "Perfect Nonsense." The Olivier Award-winning comedy from brothers David and Robert Goodale will perform at Hartford Stage Thursday, March 21, through Saturday, April 20. Original director Sean Foley returns to stage the show, which is making its North American premiere at Hartford Stage. Three Broadway actors - Chandler Williams, Arnie Burton, and Eddie Korbich - star in the three-hander.
