The ceremony is being broadcast tonight, June 10, in a live three-hour ceremony from the Beacon Theatre, on the CBS television network. Tonight may be the big night but last evening, June 9, The Tony Awards Administration Committee hosted the annual Tony Eve Cocktail Party Tony at the InterContinental Hotels & Resorts to celebrate this year's Special Tony Award winners. The Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theatre were established in 1990 and are awarded annually to institutions, individuals and/or organizations that have demonstrated extraordinary achievement in theatre, but are not eligible in any of the established Tony Award categories. This year's Tony Honors were presented to: Freddie Gershon, CEO and Chairman of Musica Theatre International, Artie Siccardi, Production Supervisor of Arthur Siccardi Theatrical Services, Inc. who has overseen more than 200 Broadway productions, and TDF Open Doors, Theatre Development Fund's arts education program.

Last night, June 9, The Tony Awards Administration Committee hosted the annual Tony Eve Cocktail Party Tony at the InterContinental Hotels & Resorts to celebrate this year's Special Tony Award winners.

A Chorus Line, the powerful and emotion-filled musical about the trials and tribulations of forging a life in the theater, will play in Pittsburgh June 15-24 at the Benedum Center. Directed and choreographed by original A Chorus Line cast member Baayork Lee, this bona fide Broadway hit features an incredible ensemble cast composed of exciting Broadway stars and Pittsburgh CLO veterans.

According to TonyAwards.com 'Broadway superstar Hugh Jackman, who is receiving a Special Tony Award this year, will be returning to New York City from filming the Les Misérables movie in time to attend Sunday night's Tony Awards ceremony. The Tonys will air on CBS at 8/7c on Sunday June 10, hosted for the third year by Neil Patrick Harris.'

As A Christmas Story, The Musical! prepares for a Broadway engagement this holiday season, the show's producers have announced that they will begin their search for young actors. An open audition for children between the ages of 8-13 will be held on Saturday June 16, 2012 at Pearl Studios (500 8th Avenue, 12th floor). Registration begins at 11:30AM with auditions from 12:00-5:00PM.

As BroadwayWorld previously reoprted, Hugh Jackman will return to Broadway during the 2013/2014 season starring as America's greatest showman in HOUDINI, an original musical, with a libretto by Academy Award and six-time Emmy Award winner Aaron Sorkin. Sorkin recently revealed some details on the show to the NY Times. He commented: 'Work on Houdini has been underway for a while, with Stephen Schwartz and I meeting regularly - either in New York or L.A. - to map out the show we're doing (also not a biography), move index cards around a board, listen to first drafts of songs and read first drafts of scenes.'

The Astaire Awards are the only awards show to honor excellence in dance and choreography on Broadway and in film and were first started in 1982 by the late Fred Astaire and the late Douglas Watt (a critic and writer for the NY Daily News and The New Yorker). Samuel L. Jackson will return to Spike TV to host 'VGA TEN,' the tenth anniversary of the 'Video Game Awards' live on Friday, December 7 at 9:00pm ET/6:00pm PT. The acclaimed international film, stage and video game star, most recently featured in the summer blockbuster, 'The Avengers,' has hosted the 'VGAs' three times from 2005-2007.

Actor/singer Douglas Sills began his Broadway career in the 90s essaying the role of infamous Sir Percy in Frank Wildhorn's musical of The Scarlet Pimpernel for which he won critical acclaim and a Tony Award nomination. Since then, he has been in, among many others, the revival of Little Shop of Horrors, Into the Woods, The Secret Garden, all on Broadway, as well as the rarely seen concert of the 1930s Jerome Kern/Oscar Hammerstein Music in the Air with Kristin Chenoweth and a slew of musical roles in LA including Mack Sennett in Reprise's Mack and Mabel and Ravenal in the Hollywood Bowl's production of Showboat. He has just started the tour of The Addams Family starring as Gomez and will open at the Pantages Theatre on June 5. In our chat, he talks at length about playing Gomez, the changes since New York in the road version of Addams Family and chooses some of his favorite all-time roles.
