A Christmas Story, The Musical arrives on Broadway at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre just in time for the 2012 holiday season. The new musical, based on the 1983 movie perennial, the musical begins performances November 7 at 7PM. The eight-week limited engagement runs through December 30. Opening night is Monday, November 19.

Sundance Institute today announced the seven artists selected for its 2013 Playwrights Retreat at Ucross Foundation, February 4-22, 2013. The annual writing colony at the 20,000-acre working cattle ranch outside of Sheridan, Wyo. provides a supportive environment for artists to create new work and receive guidance and reactions to it at an early stage. Under the supervision of Philip Himberg, Artistic Director of the Theatre Program, and Producing Director Christopher Hibma, the Playwrights Retreat is made possible through the generosity of Ucross Foundation.

The producers have announced that the new musical, based on the 1983 movie perennial, will play tonight, November 5 - December 30 holiday engagement. Opening night is Monday, November 19.

The cast will be in the studio on Monday, November 5 to record a cast album. A release date has not yet been announced.

In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, the producers of Broadway's CHAPLIN have extended the previously announced "buy one get one free" ticket offer for all performances through Thursday, November 8. Museum of the Moving Image, in collaboration with DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc. (Nasdaq: DWA), will present The Art of Rise of the Guardians, an entertaining and revelatory exhibition of behind-the-scenes production design materials, including original artwork, and video sequences that trace the creative process and craftsmanship behind the studio's remarkable new film, which arrives in theaters on November 21. On view from November 10, 2012, through March 3, 2013, the exhibition explores the unique collaborative process involving artists, designers, writers, and an enormous filmmaking team. An extensive retrospective of DreamWorks Animation films, including the franchise properties of Shrek, Kung Fu Panda, and Madagascar along with the studio's first CGI film, Antz, will accompany the exhibition throughout its run.

In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, the producers of Broadway's CHAPLIN have announced a special half-price ticket offer for select orchestra and front-mezzanine seats for performances this Saturday at 2:00PM and 8:00PM and Sunday at 2:00PM. The New 42nd Street Gala, in celebration of the New Victory Education Programs, will honor the Australia Council for the Arts with the New Victory Arts Award on Wednesday, December 5, 2012. The annual event will feature a special performance by the Melbourne-based Australian troupe Circus Oz at The New Victory Theater, followed by a dinner reception at The Liberty Theater.

NBC has announced that on November 10th, Academy Award-nominee Anne Hathaway will make her third SNL hosting appearance. Hathaway will next be seen in the feature film re-adaptation, "Les Miserables," due out in December.
