Today, 14 July 2014, twelve year old Ollie Jochim from Chelmsford, Essex gives his first performance in the title role of the internationally award winning Billy Elliot the Musical. Ollie joins a cast lead by Ruthie Henshall who plays Mrs Wilkinson, Billy's dance teacher, and becomes the thirty-eighth boy to perform the iconic role at the Victoria Palace Theatre and the seventy-fifth boy to perform the role world-wide.

Olivier award-winning actor Ruthie Henshall is to join the cast of Billy Elliot the Musical to play Billy's dance teacher Mrs Wilkinson. Henshall's first performance will be 12 May 2014, nine years to the day sinceBilly Elliot the Musical officially opened at the Victoria Palace Theatre. The internationally celebrated show which has now been seen by over 9.5 million people worldwide is currently booking to 16 May 2015and features music by Elton John, book and lyrics by Lee Hall. Stephen Daldry directs with choreography by Peter Darling.

Today, 9 December 2013, 13 year old Mitchell Tobin from Florida, USA, will become the thirty-sixth boy and the eighth American to play Billy Elliot in the West End, having previously played the title role in the North American touring production. Billy Elliot the Musical is now in its ninth year at the Victoria Palace Theatre where it is currently booking to May 2015. Having now been seen by nearly 9.5 million people worldwide,Billy Elliot the Musical has been the recipient of over 80 major international awards.

Today, 13 November 2013, 11 year old Bradley Perret from Juan les Pins, France will become the thirty-fifth boy to play Billy Elliot in the West End and the first French-born boy to play the title role. Also joining the cast today will be 11 year old, Freddie Butterfield from West Yorkshire, as Billy's best friend Michael. Check out the photos below!

Also joining the cast will be 10 year old Demi Lee from Middlesborough, as Billy's dance teacher's daughter Debbie. Now in its ninth year at the Victoria Palace Theatre, Billy Elliot the Musical was recently awarded its fifth Olivier Award - the BBC Radio 2 Audience Award voted for by the theatregoing public. Earlier this yearBilly Elliot the Musical welcomed its 4 millionth patron to the Victoria Palace Theatre where the show has now extended booking to 21 June 2014.
