Nancy Manocherian's the cell (Artistic Director Kira Simring) in Chelsea, New York City has announced Sandra A. Daley-Sharif's play Straddling the Edge as part of the cell's ongoing residency series. Artistic Director Kira Simring will direct and features Almeria Campbell, Jacqueline Gregg, Nathan Hinton, Justin Jorrell, Travis Raeburn and Robert McKay. Perri Gaffney will read stage directions.

the cell (Founding Artistic Director Nancy Manocherian, Artistic Director Kira Simring) will grant four artists each a month-long residency as part of its 2018 season. This new residency program grants selected artists the use of the venue for a month and the resources needed to develop a project of their choice that will be presented at the end of their one-month term.
Origin's 1st Irish Gives Out Awards in New York Last Night

Origin's 1st Irish 2018, the world's only theatre festival dedicated to showcasing the work of contemporary Irish playwrights, handed out its Best of Festival Awards at closing night festivities at Rosie O'Grady's in Times Square last night. The awards were very evenly distributed among the seven productions in competition from Ireland and the US, but the life of the party was Isobel Mahon's comedy "Party Face," which picked up awards for Best Actress (its star Hayley Mills) and for Best Production. Produced by Robert Driemeyer, Morgan Sills and Jan Warner, the Irish hit's US premiere plays at City Center through April 8. Its New York-based cast includes Klea Blackhurst, Gina Costigan, Brenda Meaney and Allison Jean White.
Irish Repertory Theatre Announces Extension of the Cell's CRACKSKULL ROW

Irish Repertory Theatre (Charlotte Moore, Artistic Director and Ciaran O'Reilly, Producing Director) announced today an extension of the cell's (Nancy Manocherian, Founding Artistic Director and Kira Simring, Artistic Director) acclaimed production of CRACKSKULL ROW, by Honor Molloy. Directed by Kira Simring (Hard Times: An American Musical), CRACKSKULL ROW began previews on February 3, 2017 and officially opened February 10 at Irish Rep Theatre (132 West 22nd Street) in the W. Scott McLucas Studio Theatre. CRACKSKULL ROW will now run through March 26, 2017.

Even before breaking ground on their new home, IAC will welcome audiences into the existing Cybert Tire site for Rooms, a site-specific theatrical installation by the great Irish playwright Enda Walsh (May 3-28). IAC will present Rooms alongside St. Ann's Warehouse premiere of Walsh's new play, Arlington (May 3-28), making for a season of Walsh works in New York, supported by Culture Ireland.

New Ohio Theatre Artistic Director Robert Lyons, in association with Purpleman Theater, has announced Baby Talk, a weekly conversation series which follows all Wednesday night performances of Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel's And Baby Makes Seven. Produced by Gwynn MacDonald, Loren Noveck and Purpleman Theater, Baby Talk will feature playwrights, performers, thinkers and activists who will discuss some of the issues touched on in And Baby Makes Seven, as well as Vogel's career as a playwright and her influence as a teacher and mentor.
