Mama Rose, Baby June, and plain, gawky Louise (but just wait!) hit the boards as the ever-popular musical Gypsy becomes the second production of the Novato Theater Company's 2013-2014 season in its charming new theater. The Arthur Laurents-Jule Styne-Stephen Sondheim musical features songs like 'Let Me Entertain You,' 'You Gotta Have a Gimmick,' and of course, 'Everything's Coming up Roses.'

Buran Theatre will return to The Brick after their recent national tour for a post-tour extension of their original theatre piece Nightmares: A Demonstration of the Sublime-which premiered at the theater in January. Dominican's LINES Ballet/BFA in Dance program, the only joint BFA dance program in the nation led by a master choreographer (Alonzo King) and one of only two in the United States affiliated with a major ballet company, will hold its annual fall performances November 15-16 in Angelico Hall on campus. Casting has been announced for the national tour of 'The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess,' winner of the 2012 Tony Award for Best Musical Revival, which will open at the Center Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre on April 23 and play through June 1, 2014. (Preview on April 22.) The tour, accompanied by a 23-piece orchestra, is set to launch at San Francisco's Golden Gate Theatre this November.

The group's emerging and established artists were selected from over one hundred applicants. The R & D Group is comprised of artists from multiple theatrical disciplines.
