Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida will, once again embark on a journey to the Land of the Sweets, as they perform the traditional annual audience favorite, The Nutcracker. This is the most popular holiday story ever performed in the US. It tells the tale of a young girl, Clara, on Christmas Eve and the adventure she undertakes when her most cherished Christmas present, a nutcracker, comes to life. Together they battle the Mouse King, meet the Queen of Snow and travel to the Land of Sweets, where they encounter the always classic, Sugarplum Fairy.

In spring 2014, the Downtown Urban Theater Festival (DUTF) will return for a much-anticipated 12th annual season and from 140 submissions, DUTF has narrowed it down to 29 finalists. The decisions were extremely difficult due to the amazing plays received from gifted emerging writers who hail from across the U.S. and internationally from Canada, Egypt, Iran, Israel, United Kingdom, Rio de Janeiro and Romania.

Museum of the Moving Image presents FIDMarseille Carte Blanche: A Weekend with Programmer Jean-Pierre Rehm, today and tomorrow, November 23 and 24, 2013. The program features more than a dozen films from established stars of world cinema such as Apichatpong Weerasethakul and Tsai Ming-liang, as well an emerging talents Mati Diop, Miguel Gomes, Marie Voignier, Salome Lamas, and others.
