A highlight of this year's festival is the inaugural 23 hours live!, a live performance marathon featuring 14 new plays performed over 23 hours by award winning and esteemed artists, many rooted in the culture and experiences of the Black Diaspora.

Westport Country Playhouse's world premiere musical revue, "Sing for Your Shakespeare," playing June 3 - 22, will feature a six-member cast of Broadway talents: Karen Akers, Britney Coleman, Darius de Haas, Stephen DeRosa, Constantine Germanacos, and Laurie Wells. With selections from Cole Porter's "Kiss Me, Kate," Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim's "West Side Story," and Rodgers and Hart's "The Boys from Syracuse," as well as numbers by Duke Ellington, Frank Loesser, and others, the production explores how the American Songbook has been inspired for decades by Shakespeare's works.

The plays are here! Florida Studio Theatre's 2014 Young Playwrights Festival has begun. Plays from over 3,000 playwrights were received from all over Florida and across the globe. FST is proud to announce that the winning plays of the Under Six and Seven Up programs have been selected. The winning playwrights will be honored tonight, May 10th at the Young Playwrights Festival awards ceremony.

And in order to escape, they'd need to suffer through a production of their life story performed by the other inhabitants of Hell - Shakespeare's dead characters. Matt Ritchey explores the story line in his new play Romeo and Juliet in Hell, featured at this year's Hollywood Fringe Festival.
