Jesse Tyler Ferguson to Lead THE TEMPEST, Lily Rabe & Hamish Linklater Set for CYMBELINE This Summer at SHAKESPEARE IN THE PARK

The Public Theater announced additional casting today for the 2015 Free Shakespeare in the Park season, beginning Wednesday, May 27 at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park. This summer will feature Shakespeare's late romances with THE TEMPEST, directed by Tony Award nominee Michael Greif, and CYMBELINE, directed by Tony Award winner Daniel Sullivan. Jesse Tyler Ferguson will return to the Park this summer as Trinculo in THE TEMPEST, along with Hamish Linklater and Lily Rabe teaming up again with Daniel Sullivan on CYMBELINE to play Posthumus Leonatus/Cloten and Imogen, respectively.

Lantern Theater Company Presents THE TAMING OF THE SHREW, Now thru 5/3

The battle of the sexes becomes a sensual tango in Lantern Theater Company's production of Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew, running tonight, March 19-May 3. Directed by Charles McMahon, the production features David Bardeen, K.O. DelMarcelle, Nathan Foley, J Hernandez, Dave Johnson, Joanna Liao, Ahren Potratz, Matt Tallman, and Bradley K. Wrenn.

CFDA Announces 2015 Award Nominees

The Council of Fashion Designers of America announced the nominees and honorees for the 2015 CFDA Fashion Awards at an exclusive event hosted by CFDA President Diane von Furstenberg and Nadja Swarovski at the Weather Room at Top of the Rock at Rockefeller Center.

Adventure Theatre MTC to Present THE WONDERFUL WIZARD OF OZ, 4/3-5/25

Adventure Theatre MTC takes us on a reimagined journey through Oz in a world premiere play by Jacqueline Lawton. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz runs from April 3- May 25, 2015, based on the classic American children's book by L. Frank Baum starring Helen Hayes nominated Paige Hernandez as Dorothy.

Art House Productions to Present IN FULL COLOR, 3/26-29

This March, Art House Productions will present 68 Productions' 'In Full Color' featuring 13 women of color sharing their stories in celebration of Women's History Month. From dealing with curly hair and men with 'yellow fever' to being mistaken for a terrorist, these women give us a glimpse of what life is like in their skin.

MARIACHI GIRL to Play Gallo Center, 3/21-22

'Mariachi Girl,' a 2012 bi-lingual Spanish/English musical for children and family audiences, will be staged for the first time in California by the Gallo Center for the Arts on Saturday and Sunday, March 21 - 22. Both performances are at 2 pm.

Naomi Wallace's THE LIQUID PLAIN Opens Tonight at Signature Theatre

Signature Theatre presents the New York Premiere of The Liquid Plain by Naomi Wallace, directed by Kwame Kwei-Armah. The production runs now through March 29, 2015, with its opening slated for tonight, March 8, in The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues).

'And the Nominees Are...' Over 130 Students Get the 'Nod' for the Greater Austin High School Musical Theatre Awards

Nearly150 students filled the Rollins Studio Theatre at the Long Center Friday morning for an early- and unforgettable- Greater Austin High School Musical Theatre Awards (GAHSMTA) nominations ceremony. Surrounded by eager theatre students, excited teachers and directors, and local Austin media outlets, the GAHSMTA Select Ensemble (in true musical theatre fashion), under the direction of the Long Center's Education and Outreach Director Ginger Morris, performed an impressive Broadway-style opener leading up to the morning's big announcement.

LA Opera Performs NOAH'S FLOOD Tonight

LA Opera professional artists will once again collaborate with more than 300 amateur members of the Los Angeles musical community to present two performances of Benjamin Britten's Noah's Flood this spring at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels. Conducted by LA Opera Music Director James Conlon, the performances will take place at 7:30pm tonight, March 6, and at 7:30pm on Saturday, March 7.

Zellner Bros. Appear at Moving Image Screening of KUMIKO, THE TREASURE HUNTER Tonight

Two of the most distinct and idiosyncratic voices in American independent cinema, the Austin-based filmmakers David and Nathan Zellner, will be the subjects of a retrospective at Museum of the Moving Image, Kumiko and the Zellner Bros., from February 28 through tonight, March 5, 2015. The brothers will appear in person tonight, March 5, at 7:00 p.m., with a preview screening of their latest film, the Sundance favorite, Kumiko, the Treasure Hunter. The retrospective will also include their early features Frontier, Goliath, and Kid-Thing, and a compilation of their short films in the program Zellernoids! Short Film Cavalcade.

Raja Feather Kelly's COLOR ME, WARHOL Comes to Dixon Place, 4/10-25

Dixon Place's new dance commission and the feath3r theory's production of, COLOR ME, WARHOL, will have its world premiere on April 10th. Conceived, choreographed and directed by Raja Feather Kelly, this piece is the latest installment of an ongoing series jump-started by Mr. Kelly's interest in Andy Warhol, pop culture, and identity. COLOR ME, WARHOL will play six performances only -- April 10th, 11th, 17th, 18th, 24th, and 25th at 7:00PM, at Dixon Place (161A Chrystie Street).
