Hilary Kole Celebrates New Pop Single 'Moon Song' And More At The Green Room 42 on Sept 27

THE GREEN ROOM 42 - Broadway's newest intimate concert venue - will present Hilary Kole in "Something Old, Something New" on Today, September 27 at 8:30 PM.  An authentic talent not to be missed, Kole is backed by a brilliant jazz quartet featuring pianist Adam Birnbaum, bassist Paul Gill, drummer Aaron Kimmel, and guitarist John Hart. She unlocks new meaning in old standards and little heard art songs, as well as her infectious and emotionally-compelling new pop single "Moon Song," which she co-wrote with celebrated producer, singer and songwriter Devin Bing.

The Music Of Henry Mancini Comes to The Soraya This Month

An American icon comes home.  During the early years of his career, American composer, conductor and arranger Henry Mancini and his family lived not far from where California State University, Northridge campus now stands.  On Saturday, October 13 at 8pm, Mancini's music comes home to Northridge as The Soraya presents Moon River and the Music of Henry Mancini.  Starring Monica Mancini with special guest three-time Tony nominated Joshua Henry, Moon River and the Music of Henry Mancini features Gregg Field as Music Director and Chris Walden conducting the New West Symphony.

LA Phil's LA FEST Explores The Sounds Of Los Angeles

The LA Phil celebrates its centennial year with LA Fest, a genre-spanning exploration of the sounds of the city that has inspired it for the last 100 years. Across six performances between October 4 to 14, LA Fest will offer a glimpse into Los Angeles' complex musical makeup, featuring orchestral collaborations, led by Gustavo Dudamel, with some of LA's most world-renowned musicians, including Herbie Hancock, Andrew Bird, and Moby; the world premiere of Sustain, a new work by Andrew Norman; additional world premieres of LA Phil-commissioned pieces; performances from LA favorites La Santa Cecilia and Cuco; and more at Walt Disney Concert Hall. Highlighting the LA Phil's commitment to new music, programs will open with performances of LA Phil-commissioned works from past seasons by Esa-Pekka Salonen, Steven Stucky, Gabriela Ortiz, Julia Adolphe, and John Adams.

Trumpeter Cuong Vu Rekindles Chemistry With Bill Frisell on Second RareNoise Release, 9/28

Slow & Steady Records announces the release of SLUGish Ensemble's debut album, An Eight Out Of Nine. Seeking musical therapy as a relationship was coming to end, SLUGish leader Steven Lugerner revisited a selection of “go-to” nostalgic recordings by many of his favorite artists. “I started to make a list of songs that tugged at my heart, soul and ears,” writes Lugerner. “The collection of songs your hear on this album are all songs that have been deeply embedded in my musical ethos, play after play.”

Glen Hansard, Norah Jones, Seal, and More to Honor Joni Mitchell on Her 75th Birthday at The Music Center

 The Music Center announced it will present two star-studded concerts, JONI 75: A Birthday Celebration Live at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion on November 6 and November 7, 2018, featuring an incredible array of singers and musicians who will honor one of the world's most remarkable artists, Joni Mitchell, on her 75th birthday.  On both nights, Glen Hansard, Emmylou Harris, Norah Jones, Chaka Khan, Diana Krall, Kris Kristofferson, Los Lobos, Graham Nash, Seal, and Rufus Wainwright, will perform songs from all stages of Mitchell's life and career, across the entire oeuvre of her 19 studio albums.  Co-musical directors, providing the musical arrangements for the evenings, are drummer Brian Blade, who recorded three studio albums and toured extensively with Mitchell, and, pianist, composer, arranger producer Jon Cowherd.

City Parks Foundation Presents the 26th Annual Charlie Parker Jazz Festival

City Parks Foundation's SummerStage is proud to announce the 26th Anniversary celebration of the Charlie Parker Jazz Festival. The free festival is New York City's annual salute to the legendary late saxophonist, featuring storied veteran players as well as young jazz musicians who continue to shape and drive the art form. This year's festival runs August 22 through August 26 at parks and venues around Manhattan and will include free concerts, panel discussions, and workshops - focused in Harlem where Parker worked and in the East Village where Parker lived.

Denny Seiwell Trio To Perform At Just Jazz Live Concert Series

Master Drummer Denny Seiwell, best known as a founding member/drummer of Paul McCartney's post Beatles group Wings. Originally a jazz artist, Seiwell was recruited by Paul McCartney to join Wings. His drumming can be heard on the original recording of 'Live And Let Die,' also the theme song for the 1973 epic James Bond film. His credits include the 'RAM,' 'Wildlife' and 'Red Rose Speedway' albums, which also featured the hit 'My Love.'

Katy Perry Joins Line-Up for CELEBRATE LA!: LA PHIL 100 AT THE BOWL

The Los Angeles Philharmonic announced today that global superstar Katy Perry will join the line-up of special guest artists for Celebrate LA!: LA Phil 100 at the Bowl, a free concert at the Hollywood Bowl on Sunday, September 30, 2018, at 7PM. Perry will join Gustavo Dudamel and the Los Angeles Philharmonicto perform a short set of top hits from her illustrious career. Previously announced special guests include Herbie Hancock, Kali Uchis, and YOLA (Youth Orchestra Los Angeles).
