Lou Volpe announces their August & September Appearances including gigs all around NYC.

The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust today announced the 2011-2012 Trust Presents season, sponsored by Cohen & Grigsby. The Kurt Elling Quartet with John McLean will perform July 29 at 7:30 pm at the Otesaga Hotel in Cooperstown, NY, as part of the Cooperstown Summer Music Festival. Grammy-winner Elling will perform jazz standards as well as songs from his new album, The Gate.

Conrad Herwig has spent more than a decade 'latinizing' works by some of the most celebrated jazz musicians and composers of the last fifty years. Save for the first recording, The Latin Side of John Coltrane (Astor Place, 1996), all of Herwig's Latin Side albums have been released on Half Note Records, the in-house record label of the Blue Note jazz club.

Legendary drummer Mike Clark will record a new, live album at Iridium Jazz Club in New York City, July 29th to 31st. Clark will be joined by his 'Indigo Blue' band, featuring an All-Star line-up of Wallace Roney (trumpet,) Donald Harrison (alto sax,) Christian McBride (bass,) Rob Dixon (tenor sax) and Antonio Farao (piano).
