The Center for the Arts is pleased to announce its 2016 Season - a 'Season of Celebration' as the company celebrates its 20th Anniversary. The season is comprised of eight Main Stage shows and three Gallery shows.

Masterworks Chorale opens its twelfth concert season on September 27, 3:00 pm, at the Centre for the Performing and Visual Arts. Artistic Director Kathy Bizarth has returned to lead these dedicated singers who, with Accompanist David Kinrade, share their talents and skills with our community in schools and churches.

For the second production in their 44th annual season of professional summer theatre, Cortland Repertory Theatre presents the revolutionary musical '1776', by Peter Stone, with music and lyrics by Sherman Edwards. Performances of this fascinating, family-friendly show will run from tonight, June 17, through July 4 with evening performances at 7:30. Seattle Musical Theatre, Seattle's oldest musical theatre house, and West Seattle's Twelfth Night Productions are co-producing the nascent Reboot Theatre Company's maiden production of an all-female 1776 (Book by Peter Stone; Music and Lyrics by  Sherman Edwards; Based on a concept by Sherman Edwards). Ocean State Theatre Company (OSTC) has announced that its fourth season in their state-of-the-art theatre located at 1245 Jefferson Boulevard in Warwick, will open with the magnificently macabre musical comedy, The Addams Family.

In seeing the Tony winning Sherman Edwards/Peter Stone musical 1776, we get an interesting account of historical events. The cast at BroadHollow's BayWay Theatre in East Islip are comical, comfortable in their roles, and are extremely talented.

At a star-studded ceremony tonight, the winners of the 2014 Sydney Theatre Awards were announced, with a record 33 Awards presented. Over 340 members of the Sydney theatre community packed the auditorium at Paddington RSL to celebrate the best of Sydney theatre throughout the past calendar year.

Necessary Exposure: The Female Playwright Project (on view January 5 - 26) is a series of installations displaying portraits of playwrights who identify as female.

Tim Sika presents The Answer-Killing Question Buys a Crisis, a world premiere satire on educational institutions at all levels by Barry Germansky. Cihangir Duman directs a cast of four, including Rafa Perez, Andy Phillips, Heather Shisler, and Dan Kellmer. Performances will be staged at The Crown Theater at The Producers' Club (358 West 44th Street, New York, NY 10036) from October 3-26, 2014.

It's the summer of 1776, and the nation is ready to declare independence...if only our founding fathers can agree to do it! 1776 follows John Adams of Massachusetts, Benjamin Franklin of Pennsylvania, and Richard Henry Lee and Thomas Jefferson of Virginia as they attempt to convince the members of the second Continental Congress to vote for independence from the shackles of the British monarchy by signing the Declaration of Independence.

Theatre Roscius is proud to present its second project for 2014, the world premiere of Chitlin' Blues: Dancing in the Grey, debuting at the Hollywood Fringe Festival 2014. Chitlin' Blues: Dancing in the Grey is an eclectic mix of physical theatre and Vaudeville, moving along deep roots it explores the thin line between what is black and white through the use of dance, sound, movement, and silence.

With minimal sets and props but loaded with outstanding talent, Jekyll & Hyde The Musical is playing at the Just Off Broadway Theatre in Kansas City, MO. Based on the Robert Louis Stevenson novel A Strange Case of Jekyll and Hyde, is produced by She&Her Productions, with Tiffany Schweigert directing the multi-talented cast.
