Ocean State Theatre Company (OSTC) has announced that its fourth season in their state-of-the-art theatre located at 1245 Jefferson Boulevard in Warwick, will open with the magnificently macabre musical comedy, The Addams Family.

"Honestly, after such a tough winter, I tried to pick shows I would want to get out of my house in zero degree weather and see!" says Amiee Turner, Producing Artistic Director for Ocean State Theatre Company. "Next season is a wonderful group of shows, most rarely, if ever, seen in Rhode Island, that make us laugh, inspire us, or are just plain fun. The new musical comedy The Addams Family fits into all those categories!"

The weird and wonderful family comes to life in The Addams Family: The Musical, which features an original story that is every father's nightmare. Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, is all grown up and madly in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family. And if that weren't upsetting enough, she confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez must do something he's never done before - keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change on the fateful night they host an eccentric dinner for Wednesday's boyfriend and his "normal" parents. With a hilarious script by Jersey Boys authors Marshall Brickman & Rick Elice and catchy music by Drama Desk Award-winner Andrew Lippa (The Wild Party), and dance numbers featuring the Addams' ancestors come to life, The Addams Family: The Musical is a devilish delight for the whole family!

The Addams Family: The Musical, will be presented from September 30 - October 18, 2015.

The season continues on November 4 with the original amazing race, Around the World in 80 Days. Stampeding elephants! Raging typhoons! Runaway trains! Unabashedly slapstick! Join fearless adventurer Phileas Fogg and his faithful manservant as they race to beat the clock! Phileas Fogg has agreed to an outrageous wager that puts his fortune and his life at risk. With his resourceful servant Passepartout, Fogg sets out to circle the globe in an unheard-of 80 days. But his every step is dogged by a detective who thinks he's a robber on the run. Danger, romance, and comic surprises abound in this whirlwind of a show as five actors portraying 39 characters traverse seven continents in Mark Brown's new adaptation of one of the greatest adventures of all time!

Around the World in 80 Days will be presented from November 4 - 22, 2015.

In late January, OSTC will present Tom Dulack's hilarious comedy, Breaking Legs. Angie Graziano, a former student, who now manages her father's Italian restaurant, suggests to her former professor that her dad and her "uncles" might be willing to invest in his new play. What good Italian family wouldn't do this for their daughter? What starts as a professor-turned-playwright looking for funding for his new play, turns into a professor-turned-playwright who gets more than he bargained for! His bubble is burst when he hears of the "accidental" death - by train - of a possible thug, that his backers might be more "family" than family. In this madcap comedy, murder and menace are served up with plenty of pasta and laughter.

Breaking Legs will be presented from January 27 - February 14, 2016.

The seminal event in American history blazes to vivid life in the Broadway hit 1776. It's the summer of 1776, and the nation is ready to declare independence...if only our founding fathers can agree to do it! 1776 follows John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Richard Henry Lee and Thomas Jefferson as they attempt to convince the members of the second Continental Congress to vote for independence by signing the Declaration of Independence. This fast-paced, high-energy musical puts a human face on the pages of history as we see the men behind the national icons: proud, frightened, uncertain, irritable, charming, often petty and ultimately noble figures determined to do the right thing for a fledgling nation. 1776 is a funny, insightful, and compelling drama with a striking score by Sherman Edwards and a book written by the legendary craftsman, Peter Stone.

1776 will be presented from February 24 - March 13, 2016.

Immortalized onstage and screen by Anne Bancroft and Patty Duke, this classic Tony Award-winning play tells the story of Annie Sullivan and her student, blind and mute Helen Keller. The Miracle Worker dramatizes the volatile relationship between the lonely teacher and her charge. Trapped in a secret, silent world, unable to communicate, Helen is violent, spoiled, almost sub-human and treated by her family as such. Only Annie realizes that there is a mind and spirit waiting to be rescued from the dark, tortured silence. With scenes of intense physical and emotional dynamism, Annie's success with Helen finally comes with the utterance of a single, glorious word: "water."

The Miracle Worker will be presented from March 30 - April 17, 2015.

Rounding out the season is the Tony Award-winning Cole Porter classic, Anything Goes. The age-old tale of boy meets girl and the complications which ensue, takes place aboard the SS America, sailing from New York to England, carrying an unusual group of passengers. Included amongst them are a gangster, his "moll," a wealthy debutante, her mother, her fiancé, a nightclub singing evangelist, a wealthy New York businessman, his stowaway assistant, sexy showgirls, and plenty of sailors. The amusing story is wrapped around a magical score including "It's De-Lovely," "Friendship," "I Get A Kick Out Of You," "All Through The Night," "Anything Goes," "You're The Top," and "Blow, Gabriel, Blow."

Anything Goes will be presented from April 27 - May 15, 2015.

"We will also be announcing the continuation of our Family Fun Fest, Piano Bar Series, a delightful family musical for the holidays, and numerous special events throughout the season but, that's all still in the works." said Ms. Turner.
