Florida Studio Theatre Extends A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE AND MURDER

Florida Studio Theatre (FST) opens its 45th Winter Mainstage Season with the four-time Tony Award-winning musical, A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder. Called "A true tour de force" by The New York Times, A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder follows Monty Navarro, a lowly born Englishman who suddenly discovers he is eighth in succession to become the Earl of Highurst, and is determined to gain the title…by any means necessary. This critically-acclaimed, knock 'em dead musical, with Book and Lyrics by Robert L. Freedman and Music and Lyrics by Steven Lutvak, will run starting November 7 in FST's Gompertz Theatre.

Tony nominated theatre luminary Austin Pendleton directs and adapts a new stage version of Richard III, Shakespeare's greatest villain, in WARS OF THE ROSES: HENRY VI & RICHARD III, which begins performances August 1st at the 124 Bank Street Theatre. The play combines texts from William Shakespeare's Henry VI Part 3 and Richard III, to create a version, which has never been seen before. Produced by Ruth Stage, the production stars Pendleton as Henry VI and Matt de Rogatis as Richard III, while giving a fascinating take on one of history's most notorious villains. The opening is set for Saturday, August 4th at 7PM. WARS OF THE ROSES: HENRY VI & RICHARD III will play a limited engagement through August 19th. A cast of leading regional musical theatre artists from throughout Southern California will join a live orchestra on the stage of the Moonlight Amphitheatre for one-night-only on Sat., July 7 at 8:00 p.m. for a concert version of Sherman Edwards and Peter Stone's iconic Broadway musical 1776. Moonlight Stage Productions' chiefs Steven Glaudini, Producing Artistic Director, and Colleen Kollar Smith, Managing Director, will take prominent roles in the concert: Glaudini will reprise his award-winning portrayal of John Adams, while Kollar Smith will provide direction and musical staging. Ovation Award winner, John Glaudini, who serves as the Musical Director for FROZEN: LIVE AT THE HYPERION at Disneyland will musical direct and conduct.
