The New-York Historical Society held their annual History Makers Gala on November 6 at 583 Park in New York. This year's honorees included New-York Historical Trustee Dr. H.M. Agnes Hsu-Tang, who received the New-York Historical Society Medal of Merit for Public Engagement; Harry Potter editor Arthur A. Levine, who received the New-York Historical Society Distinguished Service Award; and world-renowned entertainer and celebrated Harry Potter audiobook voice actor Jim Dale, who received the 2018 History Makers Award in recognition of the exhibition Harry Potter: A History of Magic, now on view at New-York Historical.

First Run Features Presents New Immersive Documentary, MOYNIHAN

First Run Features is pleased to announce the Los Angeles theatrical premiere of Moynihan, a new documentary directed by Joseph Dorman and Toby Perl Freilich. HBO has set the debut date for and confirmed the title of the previously announced documentary about Senator John Sidney McCain, III. JOHN MCCAIN: FOR WHOM THE BELL TOLLS will debut this Memorial Day, MONDAY, MAY 28 (8:00-9:45 p.m. ET/PT) on HBO. Produced and directed by six-time Emmy® winner Peter Kunhardt (HBO's “Jim: The James Foley Story,” “King in the Wilderness”), along with Emmy® winners George Kunhardt and Teddy Kunhardt, the film is an illuminating, exclusive profile of one of the most influential forces in modern American politics.

Suffolk University Theatre Department Announces ONE STATE, TWO STATE, RED STATE, BLUE STATE

Inspired by the current political climate, Suffolk University Theatre Professor Wesley Savick brings a new musical to the Modern Theatre, one state, two state / red state, blue state. The musical features new songs in the indigenous American languages of folk, country, blues, jazz and Broadway. The story focuses on what happens when "Betty" and "Bill" - former lovers living on opposite sides of the country - rekindle their relationship after a long separation.

THIRTEEN Presents U.S. Premiere of GI JEWS: JEWISH AMERICANS IN WORLD WAR II Documentary On PBS

GI Jews: Jewish Americans in World War II is a feature-length documentary spotlighting the little-known story of the more than 550,000 Jewish Americans who served their country in all branches of the military during World War II. Filmmaker Lisa Ades (American Experience: Miss America) brings the struggles of these brave men and women to life through first-hand experiences that reveal their fight against fascism, as well as their more personal war to liberate loved ones in Europe. After years of battle, these pioneering servicemen and women emerged transformed: more profoundly American, more deeply Jewish, and determined to continue the fight for equality and tolerance at home. GI Jews: Jewish Americans in World War II premieres nationwide on Wednesday, April 11 at 10 p.m. on PBS (check local listings) in honor of Holocaust Remembrance Day (April 12). The film will be available to stream the following day on pbs.org and PBS apps.

David Blaine Tour Making An Orlando Stop At Dr. Phillips Center

Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts and Live Nation announced today that death-defying magician, David Blaine, is taking his mind-blowing show 'David Blaine Live' on the road this spring and summer with a new round of 36 North American tour dates. Produced by Live Nation, the tour will kick off May 6, 2018 in San Diego, CA and make stops in U.S. cities including Orlando at the Walt Disney Theater on June 11, 2018.
