This week From the Archives celebrates Brian Bedford, currently starring as Lady Bracknell in the Stratford Shakespeare Festival's production of Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest.

Patrick Barlow has written and will direct Star Child in aid of The Art Room Charity for one night only at the Almeida Theatre on Sunday 5 December 2010 at 7pm.

Oscar Wilde's much loved play, An Ideal Husband has extended its run at The Vaudeville Theatre by an additional week until Saturday 26th February 2011.

The production will retain original cast members Henry Goodman as Sir Humphrey Appleby and David Haig as Prime Minister Jim Hacker.

The Lark Play Development Center is pleased to host Belarus Free Theatre for a public reading of Charonville by Nikolai Khalezin, directed by Lisa Rothe, with original translation by Yuriy Koliada and Rory Mullarky and dramaturgical and translation assistance by Erik Ehn. The reading takes place at 7pm on Wednesday, September 22 at the Lark Studio.

The 55th Annual Evening Standards Theatre Awards, honoring outstanding achievements in London Theater, today has released their long list of 2009 nominees. The award ceremony, which will take place on November 23 at the Royal Opera House, will honor some of theater's biggest stars, including Ian McKellen, Kevin Spacey, Sam Mendes, and more. Sponsored by U.K'.s Evening Standard newspaper, with nominees selected by a panel of London theater critics, the shortlist of nominees will be sometime next week.

Taking Woodstock is coming to select cities on August 14th from Focus Features. The film had a New York City premiere on Wednesday, July 29th, 2009 at Landmark's Sunshine Cinema on 143 East Houston Street (between Chrystie and Allen Streets).
