The Tony Awards has just announced members of the 2012-13 Administration and Management Committees for next season's ceremony. The 2012-13 management committee will include: Mark Abrahams, Kristin Caskey, Ted Chapin, Sondra Gilman, James Higgins, Heather Hitchens, Paul Libin, William Ivey Long, Michael Price, Jane Safer, Charlotte St. Martin, Scott Sanders, Nick Scandalios, Thomas Viertel, Robert Wankel, and Barry Weissler.
Heather Hitchens, Executive Director of the American Theatre Wing, has announced that the Wing's 2012 Gala, held Monday, September 24 at The Plaza Hotel, was the most successful in the organization's history, raising just shy of $600,000.

The June 2012 broadcast of the 65th Annual Tony Awards was honored last night with a fourth Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special. This is Mr. Weiss' eighth DGA nomination and third win. He won the Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Musical Variety in 2010 for the 64th Annual Tony Awards and in 2007 for The 61st Annual Tony Awards; and was previously nominated in this category in, 2008, 2006, 2005, 2002 and 2001 for the 62nd, 60th, 59th, 56th and 55th Annual Tony Awards.
