The Hypocrites Present CABARET at the Chicago DCA Storefront Theater 4/15-5/23

The Hypocrites, in association with Chicago DCA Theater, present the Broadway classic Cabaret. The production, directed by Matt Hawkins, comes to Chicago DCA Theater's Storefront Theater at 66 E. Randolph Street, from April 15 to May 23, 2010. Members of the press are invited to the opening performance on Saturday, April 17, at 7:30 pm.

Writers' Theatre Artistic Director Michael Halberstam and Executive Director Kathryn M. Lipuma announce Tennessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire, directed by David Cromer. The production runs May 4-July 11, 2010, at Writers' Theatre, 325 Tudor Court in Glencoe.

Steppenwolf for Young Adults continues its 2009-2010 season with John Knowles' A Separate Peace, adapted by Nancy Gilsenan and directed by Jonathan Berry. The production, featuring ensemble member Alan Wilder with Will Allan, Chance Bone, Jake Cohen, Curtis M. Jackson, Damir Konjicija and Govind Kumar, runs February 23 - March 19, 2010 in Steppenwolf's Upstairs Theatre, 1650 N. Halsted St. Weekday matinees (Tuesdays - Fridays) are reserved for school groups, with Saturday and Sunday performances available to the public.

Review - Revisiting Our Town

I had the immense pleasure of taking another visit to Grover's Corners, New Hampshire last week, via the fascinating David Cromer production of Thornton Wilder's Our Town that opened in February at the Barrow Street Theatre. Back then I wrote that the director's non-traditional take on the play - which remains completely faithful to the author's text and themes - was one of the most exciting theatre events of the season. On second look, with a mixture of new and old cast member, I'd say it's the best theatre production I know of currently playing in New York.

Review - Our Town & Fade Out-Fade In

'Exciting' is not a word normally associated with productions of Thornton Wilder's Our Town. Heartwarming? Sure. Chilling? When its climax is done well, certainly. But director David Cromer's non-traditional take on the play - which remains completely faithful to the author's text and themes - is one of the most exciting theatre events of the season.

Cromer Helmed OUR TOWN Opens at Barrow Street 2/26

Producers Scott Morfee, Jean Doumanian and Tom Wirtshafter present the acclaimed David Cromer production of' Thornton Wilder's Our Town. Performances will began on February 17th with an official opening night set for tonight, Thursday, February 26th, 7:30 p.m., at the Barrow Street Theatre (27 Barrow Street), whose space was completely redesigned for this production.
